#HarveyWeinstein has hired a "prison consultant" to prepare him for his incarceration. It must be NICE to have months or years to "prepare yourself" for prison, and even a "coach" to help you get ready.

My arrest was a complete surprise to me and everyone in my family & inner circle. The charges against me changed several times in as many weeks. I was shuffled back and forth between 6 different jails in the dead of night. Even my lawyer couldn't find me... (2/9)
The police wouldn't release my car keys to my family. It cost them $250 just to have a duplicate key fob made. Without a power of attorney, there were certain bank accounts and business assets that my family could not access. They had no idea where I was for weeks. (3/9)
Fed cases like mine mean NO BAIL. Since I was retired military... widely traveled & had a passport (marked US Govt Official Business Only)... they denied me any sort of pre-trial release. I spent many months in several county jails just waiting for my 1st day in court. (4/9)
Then the AUSA moved me in the dead of night to another jail 200 miles away so he could put me in a cell with a "snitch." And, totally by "coincidence" this snitch was a previous client of my attorney's, which caused my (very competent) attorney to be removed from the case. (5/9)
It didn't matter that I never spoke to the snitch. He was a 3-strike drug dealer facing life without parole unless he produced useful info for the AUSA. Since he couldn't tell them anything useful about my alleged crime, he instead came up with something else ENTIRELY. (6/9)
He told them that I was plotting to hijack a fuel tanker truck and drive it into the federal courthouse a la Timothy McVeigh and blow the entire place up, potentially killing myself and hundreds of people!! He offered to reveal my "plot" in exchange for no LWP in his case. (7/9)
I spent 9 mo. in county jails, 10 mo. in fed prison, & 4 mo. in a rat-hole of a "halfway house" before being allowed to go home on GPS & probation.

Anyone who thinks privilege plays no part in our criminal judicial system is either willfully blind or a complete moron.
