Every trader wants to be profitable, but not everyone is willing to put in the time and effort to get there.

Here are 11 concepts to master that will help get your there faster.

🧵 👇🏼 #PupThread
1/ Position Size

This is the most important aspect of managing risk. Each trader must determine what is their best position size for each trade.

Consider the individual stock, the market conditions, & what the sector is doing.

My max PS is 10-12% of my account.

#PositionSize
2/ Risk Management

Before entering a trade, I will always determine the risk to reward ratio. I never enter a trade unless I can make $3-$4 for every dollar I risk. 3:1 or 4:1.

By defining your risk upfront, you remove the potential for massive losses.

Being able to identify the signals for price trends in #market is a key component of any #trading strategy, and using Technical Analysis is a popular way to do so.

Here’s a thread on Technical Analysis and how to use it effectively.
#Market Analysis is broadly categorized into two main methods.

~Fundamental Analysis
~Technical Analysis

Fundamental analysts need to look at the financial statements, business model, management & many more things to come up with a fair estimate of a company's value.
On the contrary, technical analysis is not at all concerned with the detailed study of #Fundamental factors.

For technical analysts #Price is supreme and they see price as a manifestation of every #Fundamental reality.

Second in-line is $RARI. Coinbase has recently announced to launch its own #NFT market place. Don't be surprised, if $rari help them to get this goal. It will be super bullish in coming months

PhD thesis examination of Liangliang Lu has started. Exciting! I'll try live tweeting first time. Let's see how it goes. :) @MerikotkaCentre @AaltoENG
By the means modelling, the thesis contributes to advancing the #riskmanagement of #oil spills in
ice conditions, focusing on #pollution #preparedness and response.
First the system that generates the risk (Accident -> Collision & oil outflow -> oil drifting -> response and recovery) is developed. It is then used to identify critical factors related to (a) the accident aspects and (b) the response aspect.

Finally, nervously, ready to open the doors more widely to my new product: Rollup Risk.

A risk and capability management solution for both small teams and large organizations.

@IndieHackers
Born in part out of my frustration with the spreadsheets I've encountered throughout my career and the problems they cause: limited visibility, painful reviews, and collation across multiple teams a burden at best. As a result more risks become expensive issues than should.
I was determined that the solution should have transparent, scalable and accessible pricing such that it can sit alongside work and issue management software (Trello, Jira, GitHub etc.) and be easy to introduce and trial.

‘Success through Failure: the Paradox of Design’ by Henry Petroski

A little perspective for those who think they have reached the top.

#TheUnitLibrary #BookClub 🧵
April #professionaldevelopment
History is often viewed as a series of conquests and successes resulting in a modern humans sitting at the paramount of civilization. Petroski turns this on it's head through an analysis of design and engineering failures that stimulated invention and innovation.
“Successful tests are unremarkable... Failures are remarkable. The failures always teach us more than the successes about the design of things.”

Had a fun time talking about #leadership in #STEM (at any stage of career), #BlackExcellence #WomenInSTEM #DEI #DiversityandInclusion to a range of students and faculty at @tennesseetech. Thanks for the invitation @JosephCSlater. Look forward to building further on this.
Talked about ways to take on community level leadership roles to develop skills in acquiring funding, managing a budget, team building, managing people, executing.

Know what you are good at and balance the rest with your team. Don’t try to be it all.
Particularly on #Twitter, being overt about terms like #bias or #BLM or #racism can result in blowback. That does not mean what you said was wrong rather others may have insecurity or have work to do. Manage your energy as an advocate. Avoid burnout.

NEW: Trump aide @JasonMillerinDC signed a secret deal to stay with PR firm @Teneo after ‘resigning,’ and then appeared to misrepresent his employment status.

"Teneo declined to comment when approached multiple times by the Guardian," @murraywaas reports.

theguardian.com/us-news/2021/m…
Consulting firm @Teneo shouldn't have made a secret deal to keep Trump aide @JasonMillerinDC employed.

But since they did, Teneo should model for their clients how to deal with crisis PR.

Why did Teneo make a secret deal to keep Trump aide Jason Miller employed? Hmm...🤔

I will do a thread on this subject.

This game IS EASIER than ppl think it is. It’s NOT hard 2 win, but it can be if you listen to opinions vs the data, & you let those in this business make you believe you cannot do this on your own.

#trading vs #investing + #riskmanagement
1/ Here is why I believe #investing & #trading is/can be easy if you just look at the (price) data. Not a diss to Hedgeye, Real Vision, or anyone else w/ an opinion (data or feeling based doesn't really matter)

Example $SPY 1M chart w/ Heikin Ashi, 21, 50, 100, 200 MAs +MACD Image
2/ Here is $SPY on a weekly with Quad *estimates* from the Macro Show slide deck, dates above each line. Image

Is doing a graduate degree in risk management and insurance worth the money? Why?
@GARP_Risk @actuarynews
Depends!
#riskmanagement is a broad area which can offer various lucrative roles, especially in the financial sector.
They are a lot of risk management degrees available in the market.
Which one would you like to study?
And where it is being offered?
If the degree will focus more on Insurance Underwriting Management and related Risk Financing Courses, I won't advise you to do such a qualification.

The scope of such a degree won't go beyond Life and P&C Insurance Firms.

Item #3 for building back better
#DIGITIZATION

We are unlikely to return to the same state of the world as when we entered the #pandemic, nor is this desirable. #Remoteworking has the potential to become more prevalent after the crisis.
2/4
Investments might shift from face-to-face working (and lower the cost of #officerealestate and time for #commuting).
3/4
#Stimulus spending should focus investments on the enablers of this new approach to work, e.g., #5G rollouts, #broadband infrastructure, #satellites for global reach, server farms for adequate capacity, etc, all with effective #privacy protection.

Item #2 for building back better
DECARBONIZING THE ECONOMY

The covid crisis must be used to accelerate the transition to an electric, zero-carbon economy, to reduce climate tail risk.
2/4
This includes:

(a) investments in renewable energy (and maybe nuclear, if it can be made fast and safe) for powering the industry;

(b) electrification of trains, trucks, public transport, and cars; and
3/4
(c) investments to improve true sustainability of farming, food manufacture, housing, and commercial real estate.
