For the last 3 weekends, and this past Mon and Tues, I had the privilege of helping launch a canvass for @TeamWarren at 9, noon, and 3 every day. The practice is for all canvassers to say why we are in this fight. At some point I started writing the reasons down. Here they are:
She’s the most qualified candidate – the most earnest and trustworthy, she’s in the fight for all the right reasons, she’s been protecting the rights of working class people for so much of her career.
Her track record of addressing inequality, which has gotten so much worse in my lifetime. She’s a great educator and takes things that are complex by design and makes them easy to understand.
She gives me hope.
It's so satisfying to see her speak truth to power.
She has a unique gift for speaking to the public. All of those complicated issues - she makes them life-sized.
If we want to elect women, we have to vote for women. We have to work to get women elected.
The fact that she's a mom is a big deal. She can see us moms, and know our struggles.
She can bring in the most moderate voters and the most progressive voters. She can build the coalition we need to defeat trump.
She has the best race and gender analysis of anyone out there – she listens to communities when she makes her policies. Who else does that?
The way she runs her campaign is full of love from top to bottom.
I love her ability to create plans that are very realistic for transforming this country and government. If we don’t address government, we’re not addressing anything.
She wants a government who works for the people. That shouldn't be radical. When did that get radical? She makes it common sense.
I’m very excited – she’s really the one who can beat trump. I watched her eviscerate Bloomberg - so just imagine what she'll do to trump on the debate stage!
Her ambition is generous. It's not for herself, it's for the country. It's inclusive. And of course, she's the smartest person in the race.
We need someone fearless at this moment in history to repair all the damage that’s been done. I love her fearlessness. She just keeps on plugging, so I'll keep plugging too!
I'm an introvert, I don't want to be here getting ready to talk to strangers. But I want her to win so badly, so here we are.
She’s the kindest, most sincere person in the primary.
I’m in this because she is clearly the most qualified. This is the chance of a lifetime to have this nominee.
It’s OBVIOUS that she’s the best candidate.
She thinks SO HARD about how to make people’s lives better and easier.
I have never done anything like this before – I can’t add to what everyone else has said, but I just adore her. So anything I can do to help.
She’s OBVIOUSLY the most qualified candidate.
Climate change is my biggest worry, and she got an A from the environmental voter project.
She's a brilliant, badass lady.
I'm here because of her incredible intelligence and pragmatism. She's so genuine and authentic.
She’s the only person really focused on rooting out corruption.
She believes that government can actually work for the people.
She puts communities at the center when she makes her policies. She really LISTENS to affected communities.
Her diagnosis of what's wrong with the economy and the government is just so RIGHT. Concentrated wealth leading to concentrated power leading to the system getting rigged. She knows how to unrig the system.
She's kind and she cares so much. I crave a compassionate person in the White House.
I want to leave a better world to my kids. I'm doing this for them.
How many candidates listen and learn? How many admit when they're wrong? How many change when they get feedback? Only Elizabeth.
She has a racial justice aspect to every single one of her plans. That's so important to me.
I brought my daughter with me so that her first canvassing experience would be to canvass for a woman candidate for president. I want her to know that girls can run for president.
No one works harder than her. I'm so impressed that she dropped out of college to get married, and then went back to school and made it all the way to be a law professor at Harvard. She really sticks with things. We need someone who will stick with it to fix this government!
I really believe in Medicare for All, and she actually has a plan to pay for it, and a solid plan to get us there.
If you want your car fixed, you'd take it to a car mechanic, right? We need someone who really knows exactly how the government works, so she can make it work for the people.
The CFPB? She has already done the work of 10 presidents. Let's give her the oval office and see just what she can get done then!
We need someone with empathy in the White House.
I love her so much. I just love her. I don't know what else to say. We need her to be president.
For her it's not about ego. She's called to the presidency - she's doing this for all of us.
She cares so much. She cares about ALL of us and wants to make this a country where we can all do well. She thinks about actual people when she makes her plans. How can our lives be better?
This fight is obviously the best fight to be in. Not sure why anyone would NOT want to be in it.
Elizabeth is fighting for anyone who has ever been left behind or left out, so I'm here canvassing because the least I could do is fight for her.
I really like her 2-cent wealth tax. But after hearing about all the things we can do with just two cents, I think maybe she should make it THREE cents.
I've been following her ever since she was on the Daily Show talking about the financial crisis. She was just so adorable. I loved how she took something so complicated and made it completely understandable. You have to be absolutely brilliant to do that.
I love how sincere and authentic she is. You always see her putting her hand over her heart. That's where her fight comes from - all of this is from the heart.
She is TOUGH. We're going to need someone really tough and brilliant to undo all the damage that the trump administration has done.
People think she's anti-business but that's not it. She knows that our economy isn't fair - and she knows how to level the playing field so we're not all at the mercy of huge corporations. That means that people like me can actually start small businesses and compete!
She's the perfect combination of relateable and elite - I can imagine hanging out with her but at the same time she can think circles around me. I WANT a brilliant person in the White House! God how I want that.
