This is such an absurd piece—it’s embarrassing that @WSJopinion published it. @ACOG is not a fringe organization: it represents 90% of Ob/Gyns. Ob/Gyns know that medically unnecessary restrictions on access to safe abortion are not good for healthcare. wsj.com/articles/the-o…
The author packed this piece with lies—did you even bother to fact-check this @WSJ? For example, she incorrectly says that 14% of Ob/Gyns provide abortion care. Fact: The most recent national survey found that 24% of Ob/Gyns provide abortion. Basic facts.

Senator @tedcruz, currently the best evidence-based research indicates a fetus cannot perceive pain until the third trimester, 26 weeks. I'll walk you through it.
As you know, the anti-abortion movement has pushed the idea of "fetal pain" and misnomer "late-term abortion" in order to ban abortion care before the current precedent set by Roe v. Wade which is viability, around 24-28 weeks. It's actually not based on science, just stigma. Image
(I know you were a constitutional lawyer, and you have said you respect the rights afforded to us in the constitution, so I won't bore you with more of the legal precedence. Let's talk about the evidence-based science since that's my expertise as a board-certified Ob/Gyn!)

Good morning! I'm feeling a bit nerdy today and would like to explain what "REMS" is and why it's making medication abortion pills less accessible as they could be.
First, what is "REMS"?

Well, it stands for Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy. It's a restriction the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) puts on medications that have high safety concerns to ensure it is used safely.

There a few medications that have REMS, and some make sense. Take Clozapine for example; it's a medication for people with schizophrenia which can lower a patient's white blood cell count, so when a patient goes to the pharmacy, a pharmacist can check it prior to dispensing.

To start, a pregnancy is ectopic when it implants outside of the uterus—most commonly (96%) in the Fallopian tube. While it's rare, an ectopic pregnancy can develop elsewhere, like the cervix or the abdomen. Between 1-3% of pregnancies are ectopic.

Such a mess. The EU delaying the decision complicates parliament's response to the election. They can't sign up to it until they know the extension will give it time to take place.
Johnson combining election support with an agreement to force his deal through beforehand also removes the point of the election. Labour therefore has to reject the request on Monday.
So many people thinking short-sightedly, or self-interestedly, or not at all.

Right-wing lawmakers in Alabama just enacted the most extreme abortion ban in over 40 years, the latest in a wave of abortion bans across the country in states like Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Ohio. Republicans are on the march to overturn Roe v. Wade.
They’re hoping the Supreme Court will back their radical play, and it might work. Donald Trump packed the courts with extreme, anti-choice judges. Senate Republicans stole a SCOTUS seat & rammed through Justice Kavanaugh’s confirmation in order to cement an anti-choice majority.
Our next President can begin to undo some of the damage by appointing neutral and fair judges who actually respect the law and cases like Roe instead of right-wing ideologues bent on rolling back our rights. But Congress has a role to play as well.
