Having taught hundreds of people to write, I have a suggestion for you: Work up to the long-form essay with short weekly articles.

Start writing the long-form essay once you have 30-50 published articles, a personal website, and a strong base of email subscribers.

he finds the photos in his attic, in a box of old things that he hasn’t touched in years. he remembers right away when the photo was taken, on he and yoongi’s last vacation together. their only real trip they’d traveled far for. they’d been so happy then. carefree.

looking at the photos now though, it seems like a different life. he hasn’t wondered about yoongi in so long, but looking at his smiling face brings it all back, like a wave that he’s been trying—successfully—to hold back for ten years now.
