I'm aware that a lot of people are anxious right now, and that's right - up to a point. Remember that *at this moment* in *most* places the community incidence is still low (even if much greater than testing suggests). 1/n
think like this - it's natural to focus on all the infections, but don't forget the much larger group that are *not* infected (yet). There is a lot that anybody can do right now to reduce the risk to themselves and everyone else 2/n
Handwashing is a key part. It is something that we can all do. And authorities can and should cancel large gatherings of people and certainly not arrange more! It's pretty simple. The situation is bad, don't make it worse, start making it better 3/n
If you have to go out to work or something else, just do everything you can to avoid infection. That's handwashing (or sanitizer when soap and water not available). When you get home, wash your hands (again! 20s!) and change your clothes 4/n
Maintain distance from other people and avoid handshakes. If you can, you can work from home and cut other possible transmission routes. This will in turn help slow it down. This is good, and you will be helping 5/n
Every transmission denied, drops the reproductive rate. Get it as low as possible and healthcare will be equal to the challenge, but it will take your help. Don't panic and live your life - just a little differently than you had planned 6/n
Finally. Don't forget that this will change. In at least some places we expect things to get significantly worse. This will impact small businesses in your community. Use them while you still can and leave large tips! (you should anyway, but especially now) 7/fin
