Okay. Raise your hand if you hope to make comics, or even a single comics story, but haven't yet done so (no judgments, I'm going somewhere cool, I promise).
For those of you who raised your hand...I'm going to try something. I don't think anyone's ever done it before. Certainly not on this scale.

If you're interested in a craft experiment that will help you learn a LOT of important tools to making comics, check later today.
I don't care what your politics are, or your talent level or background. Everyone is welcome provided they are open to learn and won't be critical of others participating.

(If you are CG or whatever and want to participate, have someone ask to unblock you, and please behave).
So I ask a couple things in return.

1) Come in blank, with no prepared ideas, ready to start from scratch.

2) Be open-minded, and understand that everyone does this a little differently.
This is going to be incredibly exciting.

And even people who have done this a bit may find some useful information. It's not going to be a one-way street, I'm not a professor.

But I have some tools that can help.

What you get out of it is up to you.
It's going to last five days.

It's called #ComicsSchool
Right now I am writing it down, it's not going to be what you expect, I think. But it should give you access to some useful skills and knowledge in an interesting, creative way.
So, come in open-minded, don't critique or judge others unless specifically requested to, don't devolve the process into arguments.

At the end, you will have something to be proud of AND some new practical knowledge.
It's gonna be fun.

Come by later today for Day One.

#ComicsSchool
Ps., Do not tell me your ideas, don't jump ahead.

And Pps., you don't have to know my work or like my work to participate, just have a LITTLE faith that writing 600+ comics has taught me some information that might help you, deal?
It's going to be bite-sized chunks, there will be a couple surprise twists. But you will learn some things, I promise.

If you're rude to others, it's just an insta-block, please understand that in advance. That's the only actual behavior request.

:)
Okay!

I am writing out how this will break down. I think people are going to learn a LOT in five short days.

Here is the supplies you will need for class aside from a computer:

A pen or pencil
A notepad or notebook
A small basket or box (even an empty tissue box)

That's it!
Also, have your cell phone near if you can, don't worry, no one is calling anyone, it's to make a point.

#COMICSSCHOOL #DAYONE #ORIENTATION will start at 1:00 pm PST, 4:00 pm EST.

Box,
Notebook
Phone
Pencil

AND an 8 sided die if you have one (but don't worry if you don't).
