Andrew Gillum, a Florida Democrat who narrowly lost a bid for governor in 2018, was found “inebriated” and vomiting in a hotel room with another man apparently experiencing a drug overdose, according to a police report

The Miami Beach Police Department responded to an emergency call from the hotel room early Friday morning. Police impounded several clear plastic bags of what appeared to be crystal meth

Aldo Mejias, who rented the room, told police he arrived at the hotel last night to find Gillum and Travis Dyson “under the influence of an unknown substance,” according to the report.

Dyson was later hospitalized. He is conscious and in stable condition

In a written statement, Gillum said he had too much to drink after a wedding

"While I had too much to drink, I want to be clear that I have never used methamphetamines. I apologize to the people of Florida for the distraction this has caused our movement”

Former FL Democratic candidate for governor Andrew Gillum was in a Miami Beach hotel room last night where a man had "a possible drug overdose," according to a police report.

The report doesnt say Gillum possessed or used illegal drugs. Here's what we know re: the report 1/x

It's unclear what that inebriation is and if, like a lot of folks on Miami Beach, he got drunk and wound up somewhere that harder stuff was being used.

The hotel room was rented by the other man, so if there were drugs, it's legally hard to charge Gillum w/it
