Former FL Democratic candidate for governor Andrew Gillum was in a Miami Beach hotel room last night where a man had "a possible drug overdose," according to a police report.

The report doesnt say Gillum possessed or used illegal drugs. Here's what we know re: the report 1/x
2: "Gillum was unable to communicate with officers due to his inebriated state" the report says

It's unclear what that inebriation is and if, like a lot of folks on Miami Beach, he got drunk and wound up somewhere that harder stuff was being used.

Indeed...
3: Report: "officers observed in plain sight three small clear plastic baggies containing suspected crystal meth on both the bed and floor of the hotel room."

The hotel room was rented by the other man, so if there were drugs, it's legally hard to charge Gillum w/it
4: Gillum was also far-less intoxicated than the man with the OD & doesn't sound methed-up here: "Fire rescue stated that he was in stable condition and his vitals were normal. Mr. Gillum left the hotel room and returned to his residence without incident."
5: Gillum and his advisors didn't return calls or emails for comment. We reached out to the other man and his partner via Facebook and got no responses.

So we don't know exactly what happened beyond this report

Standby for a story
6. Gillum says he was drunk, not on meth: "While I had too much to drink, I want to be clear that I have never used methamphetamines."
8. This distills progressive reaction:
Lol. I'm either in the tank for Gillum or I'm covering up for him
10. Oops. I forgot to post the story
