subset of the population incapable of distinguishing between how something makes them feel and that things actual informational content are going to have an extremely difficult time around discussions about the news over the next few months
i unironically and totally seriously suggest that most groups of friends that contain "normal people" designate one person who is obviously "that guy" to keep up with things day to day, normal people will not be able to deal with the constant hour to hour updates over months.
conversely this will also to some extent happen naturally. i am "that guy" for many people in my life now. ill tell them what they need to know and thats it. its not a job i signed up for. you may also find yourself conscripted into this strange position. just saying
hey are you watching [x] channel? your [mayor/governor] is giving a speech
"uh no how do i watch it, i dont have a tv"
well, i watched it, ill just tell you what he said, its pretty long
