He did say to wash hands before shaking, but the story he just described (generous interpretation) is:

Washed his hands.
"shook hands with everybody" inc patients with Covid, potentially spreading it to those without.

So as this happened 24 days ago, it is highly unlikely that this is when Boris Johnson contracted the disease.
All it shows is that by his own admission, he may have contributed to its spread, both directly and by condoning handshaking.
