Article: "Spending £350 billion to prolong the lives of a few hundred thousand mostly elderly people is an irresponsible use of taxpayers’ money".

They take votes from old people then offer them up to die!
I've never hidden my feeling about those who voted both Brexit in 2016 & Tory in 2019 who are OK for us to be poorer, knowing that it's the younger generations who'll pay the higher price.
But for the same people who sought their votes to say THIS NOW!

Actually, maybe I've finally been proven wrong... Maybe it won't be the younger generations who pay the highest price for the Tory/Brexit votes...

I'll be totally honest.
I shared this article many times since 2018 to show that, based on the highest medical consensus, those who supported No-deal Brexit were trying to kill 1000s of Brits.

But even I thought the "deadly pandemics" bit was a bit much.

The NHS was saying the government's immigration plans had done nothing to reassure EU medical staff (statistically improve UK doctor-patient ratio).

I'm not saying this to say I told you so, or just to rub your nose in it.
I'm saying this for the same reason people discuss gun control right after a mass shooting.
NOW is the best time to learn that lesson. BEFORE we re-enter negotiations thinking no-deal is an option.

It's infuriating to hear the government say they don't have the resources to perform vital testing or give people financial support on time.

Imagine how much more prepared our NHS COULD have been if it wasn't for the 'distraction' caused by the same people making excuses now.
EVERY SINGLE ONE of the 18,000 people you hear Dominic Raab mention in this speech could have been a government employee working to improve the NHS' capacity over the past 4 years.
Instead... Here we are...

Your job is to look out for the financial well-being of your citizens and they are crying out for help!
Young people change jobs a lot in their early careers.
If you let them fall between the cracks, because they've fallen between two jobs, they will remember...

(1) I wonder if American audiences fully grasp the enormity of what #BorisJohnson has done by asking the Queen to suspend #Parliament. This is way more extreme than if #Trump asked #MitchMcConnell to delay the Senate session to avoid an unpopular vote. cnn.com/europe/live-ne…
(2) To put this #ConstitutionalCrisis in perspective, you have to remember that the #UK's parliamentary supremacy vests far more power in their legislature than we've ever given to ours. Under the American system, the Constitution is supreme. Under the UK system, Parliament is.
(3) Things have gotten trickier in recent years as #Parliament delegated some power to other institutions: regional assemblies in #Scotland and #NorthernIreland, a Supreme Court (Lords use to be the highest court), and made other structural changes. see: talkingpoliticspodcast.com/blog/2019/168-…

Despite her #BREXIT deal being defeated by biggest margin a government has lost a vote ever maybot seeks concessions on backstop despite being told to bog off by the EU with no realistic hope of a different answer
Corbyn meanwhile refuses to talk #BREXIT without no deal being ruled out despite knowing she can't do this whilst maybot makes no concessions either.

First Airbus, now BMW warn of factory closures if xBrexit takes UK out of the Customs Union and Single Market on which their supply chains depend...I wonder who Greg Hands and Philip Hammond have lined up next :)

At this point, the roles are reversed from the Brexit campaign. Then the it's just 'project fear' narrative won the day.

Now, as Brexit approaches, the Brexiteers need to get beyond 'project fantasy' to sell a clean-break Brexit in face of real-world CEO warnings. /2
If BMW and Airbus are 'off' in the event of a clean-break #Brexit that brings the 'what then?' question into rather sharper focus.

And even if there was a case to be made (arguable) the Brexiteers are still making it based on hypotheticals...which is hard. /3
