1. Recently, some people talk of supporting #Taiwan participating in the World Health Assembly (#WHA) or even the @WHO. #China’s position has been consistent and clear. @SKinnock

2. There is only one #China in the world; the #Taiwan region is an inalienable part of #China’s territory. This is the consensus of the international community.

3. In October 1971, the United Nations General Assembly adopted at its 26th session Resolution 2758, recognizing the People's Republic of China (#PRC) as the sole legitimate government representing the whole of #China.

4. The resolution, fully demonstrating the #oneChina principle that the #UN is committed to, has solved once and for all the issue of #China's representation in the UN politically, de jure and procedure-wise.

5. The @WHO, as a special agency of the #UN, should observe UNGA resolutions. Resolution 25.1 of the World Health Assembly reaffirmed the UNGA Resolution 2758 and clarified the issue of #China's representation in the @WHO.

6. Upon its accession to the International Health Regulations (2005) (IHR), #China stated that the IHR applies to the entire territory of the #PRC, including the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao SAR and the #Taiwan Province.

7. As agreed upon by the Chinese government and @WHO, a @WHO IHR Contact Point has been set up in #China's #Taiwan and the region has an account to access the @WHO Event Information Site for the timely updates on global public health emergencies released by @WHO.

8. There is no barrier to technical cooperation between #China's #Taiwan and @WHO. Between early 2019 and early May 2020, 24 person times from 16 expert groups of #Taiwan attended the technical conferences held by @WHO.

9. #Taiwan participated in the WHA from 2009 to 2016 as an observer in the name of "Chinese Taipei." This special arrangement was made through cross-Strait consultations based on mutual adherence to the 1992 Consensus that embodies the #oneChina principle.

10. The DPP in office since May 2016, has been stubbornly adhering to the separatist position of "Taiwan independence" and refused to acknowledge the 1992 Consensus, undermining the political foundation for cross-Strait consultations and led to the absence of #Taiwan from @WHA.

11. Since the start of COVID-19, #China's National Health Commission has provided timely information to the #Taiwan region. As of 6 May, #China's mainland had updated #Taiwan on the situation 148 times.

12. In mid-January, the mainland arranged a field visit to Wuhan for experts from #Taiwan to help them learn more about the diagnosis and treatment of confirmed cases and COVID-19 response measures.

13. The #Taiwan authorities claimed that its CDC had warned @WHO of the existence of human-to-human transmission of COVID-19 in an email at the end of December 2019, but @WHO withheld this information from the world.

14. In response to this allegation, @WHO clarified on 4 May that the email sent from #Taiwan on 31 December 2019 was not a warning, but a request for more information on cases of atypical pneumonia reported by news sources.

15. In a nutshell, on the #Taiwan region's participation in @WHO activities, #China's position is clear and consistent. The one-China principle must be observed.

16. It is nothing but political maneuvering for the #Taiwan authorities to play up its so-called participation in @WHO events and return to the WHA under the pretext of the #COVIDpandemic. It will be a futile attempt.
