Landed in Delhi. Waited for ~3 hours in the flight afterwhich we were told there is another aircraft been arranged due to a tech fault. Waiting since ~6 hours now. It’s very tough to wear the shield and the mask all thru out. Very suffocating. No ventilation / AC in the airport
After ~9 hours of wait, we were asked to board another AI ✈️ at the delhi airport. Walking from one gate to another with shields and masks amidst high security felt abnormal. There was tension in the air.
Arrived Bangalore past ~7pm IST. After deplaning, we were asked to fill in a self declaration form stating that we have no symptoms. This was followed by a quick health check and then immigration. #SocialDistanacing was maintained. #COVID #BLRAirport
After immigration it was time for baggage collection. We waited for ~45 mins for the bags to arrive. The bags were wet when they arrived as they’d been sprayed with disinfectants. #COVID19 #BLRAirport #NammaBengaluru
Next was hotel allocation. Hotel is allocated based on the category you choose. 3 Star was Lemon Tree and 5 Star Taj Yeshwantpur. Hotels are allocated on a rolling basis - based on availability. You can’t choose the area or hotel you’d like to stay in. #BLRAirport
Money exchange is available right near the hotel allocation. #KOTAKBANK ATM is present too but didn’t work. Many of us needed to withdraw money but couldn’t.
After hotel allocation, there is a booth for passengers who want to buy a sim. It’s by Vodafone but it’s a rip off @ 1000/- bucks per sim 🤷🏻♀️ #Flythenewnormal #COVID19 #BLRAirport
We were clubbed in groups of 20 to board the bus. BMTC buses were sanitised and waiting for us. A shocker that we had to pay for the bus tickets. 300/- ticket and the ATM wasn’t working!!! While some borrowed money from others in the group, I was lucky my indian card worked. Phew
Arrived at #Taj Yeshwantpur at midnight. The bus was escorted by police vehicles. Felt like high profile prisoners 😂. All bags were sanitised again by Taj after we got off the bus. Check-in at Taj was smooth and quick. #institutionalquarantine
Instructions upon arrival at #Taj. Everything was provided for. Smooth and easy. No hassles. They didn’t make us feel like ‘untouchables’. I have always loved Taj ❤️ #institutionalquarantine
Few self service stations outside on every floor at #Taj. Pre-ordered breakfast, lunch n dinner is placed outside our room at a designated time. A la carte is available too upon request. Room service once in 7 days. Room temp set to 24 n we can’t change #institutionalquarantine
Day 2 under #institutionalquarantine . Meals are yummy and healthy. Heath check up for the day completed. Wifi is strong with power back up so we can work from the room. Rooms have international sockets so no need of adapters for laptops. #COVID19Quarantine #nammabengaluru
Day 3: wifi was down most of the day today. Up and running now though. Ordered pre-packed meal for lunch n dinner. Was 😋! Health check (Temp check and oxygen level check) for the day completed.
Day 4: Recvd a call from the medical team that we can undergo an optional #Covid test for INR 650 & results will be shared tomorrow. Even if the results are -ve, we can’t go home and have to complete 7 days #Quarantine. PS: mango slices served in one of the meals today 😋
@DHFWKA After arriving from Dublin as a part of the #VandeBharatMission, I have completed my 7 days mandatory #institutionalquarantine in Bangalore. Should this be followed by additional 7 days of home quarantine? Please confirm. @DIPR_COVID19
