The #3rdPrecinct was burning steadily at ~11 p.m. last night. The grounds were covered with graffiti, while the building was occupied inside all the way to the rooftop.

Spray-painted on a barrier is the phrase "Burn The MPD"

#GeorgeFloydProtest
Hundreds took to the streets in South #Minneapolis last night to show their disapproval for the recent killing of an unarmed Black man.

Many gathered in front of a burning #3rdPrecinct building — the former place of employment of the MPD officers who killed #GeorgeFloyd.
Slides 11–12: Minnehaha Lake Wine & Spirits, which was broken into on the first night of #GeorgeFloydProtests.

After the corner building was set on fire tonight, people warned others on the ground to watch out for the smoldering electrical pole and then the burning power wires.
Slides 13–16: the #3rdPrecinct station as of ~11:30 p.m. last night, as seen from Minnehaha avenue and the alleyway South of the building.

Ladders were used to access upper levels of the building on Lake Street.

Slide 17: a protest sign has been affixed to a tower of bricks still standing amidst the burned rubble of the AutoZone:

"If we do this 'your way' we're doomed to repeat this again..."

Behind the remains of the building, stars are visible in the night sky. #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd
Slide 18: fireworks were used by protesters to celebrate the seizure of the #3rdPrecinct.

All photos in this thread are from the #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd #GeorgeFloyd protests in
#Minneapolis from May 28–29.

Slides 19–22: as of midnight, farther East down Lake street, broken windows and fire had worsened on many buildings, though some were spared because of their ownership or occupants.

As the night turned to morning, a lot of small businesses that weren't vandalized earlier didn't make it through the third night.
