#GreenRecovery principle 1/7: Aligning support with the ambitious climate action Canadians need by driving a zero-emission transition that prioritizes the #1o5 global warming scenario. Image
#GreenRecovery principle 2/7: When taxpayer funds are supporting industry, that money needs to have strings attached—let’s safeguard economic stability and secure jobs. Image
#GreenRecovery principle 3/7: Prioritize people. We need to train workers for the green jobs of a sustainable economy as part of a #JustTransition to clean energy. Image
#GreenRecovery principle 4/7: Invest in our future. Let's support innovative solutions that benefit communities, like clean electricity and low-carbon fuels. Image
#GreenRecovery principle 5/7: We need to make progress on our environmental commitments. This means protecting—not neglecting—regulations and policies that keep us on the right track. Image
#GreenRecovery principle 6/7: Be transparent and accountable. Spending details should be out in the open, and industry must hold up their end of the deal. Image
#GreenRecovery principle 7/7: Both #COVID19 and #ClimateChange amplify social inequities. To truly #BuildBackBetter, we need a #JustRecovery that boosts equity and wellbeing and upholds Indigenous rights. Image

‼️ BC judge denies application to extend injunction at Fairy Creek ‼️

Amazing news for all the forest defenders who continue to stand for old growth and for justice at Ada’itsx @SaveFairyCreek 👏 #FairyCreek #bcpoli cbc.ca/news/canada/br…

The BC government announced a stimulus package today containing less than half the recommended funds to address climate change.

The west coast is burning. BC is choking on smoke. Maybe we should listen to the science on climate change? 🙃 #bcpoli

“I am disappointed that Premier @jjhorgan would ignore the recommendations of their own handpicked advisory body on climate.” - @Tzeporah

The Climate Solutions Council recommended at least $500M be committed to climate mitigation and adaptation. BC fell far short, under 50%.
“The BC Government will still spend more in 2020 on fossil fuel subsidies than they do on their entire plan to fight climate change.” - @svenbiggs
