What Do We Know About The #RussiaReport?
Before next week's 50 pages, it's worth covering what we do and do not know about this most mysterious and suppressed of reports into #Brexit interference.
Though the details are surprisingly scarce, there are some certainties...
It will question the legitimacy of #Brexit.
Don't get distracted. Not only is #Brexit the report's subject, but efforts to suppress data go back to March 2019 (!!)⏬
#Brexit is already tarnished on the topic of electoral fraud; this'll be worse

It's not a dead cat.
Reports this is some sort of 2-year jape aren't plausible.
a) Cummings job levels of political capital spent
b) Johnson attention consumed by it
c) other dead cats added by Raaab (trade & vaccines) more quickly than you can say, "look over there".
It hurts the inner circle and particularly Cummings.
This isn't proven but IMHO is obvious. If it's Russians and its electoral interference in #Brexit then the only channel it can be is digital and that takes you right to:
Bots,
Micro-targeted ads and
Cambridge Analytica.
A bunch of reasons they'd be keen not to bring this all up again. Two are
a) they're massively reliant on large scale unregulated digital lying
b) Cummings himself undermined the legitimacy of Brexit more than anyone else!
Awkward to connect ⏬
I've tried to keep this thread at least plausible and as evidential as I can for something unpublished.
There are plenty of other places you can read about speculative reasons #Johnson might not wish to publish.
Tory Donors might be most credible.

Dig into Twitter and you find theories of British Trump pee-pee entrapment scenarios to claims of Kim Philby type espionage at the highest levels.
While those might be delightful stories, I think personally the mundane is more likely.
Ask, when did the suppression start?
just as Cummings' launched Get Brexit Done.
Brexit done-over would have been awkward timing.
But now it's
Not oven ready
Not done at all
It's an EU Exit with none of the BRenefits.
All pain for no gain.
Just after a #Covid19 failure, they don't want to land a second
NHS Nurses
I don't like supporting conspiracy, so to be fully transparent, while bots and microtargeting are definitely a thing [journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.117…], it's not clear that NHS Nurses are the best example. Jury is out. [fullfact.org/online/evidenc…]
Continuing the last point, I have a concern I'd like to talk about.
You've heard the meme that social media causes division, reinforces bias.
Possibly true, but large scale unregulated political lying is far more democratically dangerous⏬
