#Belarus Day 35 of the protests. Happening right now in #Minsk. Women have gathered just a moment ago near the city hall for their traditional Saturday all-female rally. They are peaceful as usual.Unmarked buses arrived, brutal detentions began right in the beginning of the rally
#Belarus. These are amazingly strong and powerful women. Look how they are protecting themselves. They've also ripped off balaclavas from several unidentified men. People are indeed fed up adn don't agree with this injustice.
The security forces tried to detain 73-year-old Nina #Bahinskaya, who has been taking part in nearly every political rally in the past 30 years. Other women were able to defend her. She is one of the bravest women in #Belarus and is being admired by the whole country

From an eyewitness: People were in a cafe,someone closed the door.Unknown men with batons broke the windows and began beating people in the cafe. It is a provocation - no single window was broken during the protests. But it is also extremely scary - are we in the 1990s?

#Belarus. Happening right now in #Minsk. Despite all military vehicles, blocked streets, threats and detentions, crowds are gathering again for the March of Unity. People came out in cities across #Belarus, such as Mahilou and Homiel. The protests don’t stop. Impressive
Thousands of people are rallying right now in the #Minsk city centre. Amazing how quickly they gained their right to the city. Dancing, marching,singing,walking,flashing victory signs at each other - these are not only symbolic acts. It’s very tangible and certain road to freedom
The Belarusian authorities keep brutally detaining peaceful protesters. This happened not far from Tsum in #Minsk. More than 40 people have already been detained. The authorities also detained a well-known ecologist Iryna Suhiy. She was taken to a police department from her home

#Minsk #Belarus While people were brought to pro-#Lukashenko rallies by buses and coercion, protesters are gathering despite arrests, threats and more facts about police brutality that were revealed. The effect of this rally will be more important and stronger than previous ones
Protesters marched to the #Minsk Hero City Obelisk, which is currently surrounded by armed police,soliders and barbed wire. Maryia #Kalesnikava came to support protesters. She asked to not provoke. Not far from the crowd someone intentionally turned on some Soviet music.
#Minsk right now. Protesters want to move to State Flag Square passing through Palace of Independence, yet another “state” palace that #Lukashenko built for himself. People there are saying that entrances to the palace are being currently blocked.

A massive rally of solidarity takes place later today in #Minsk. Workers from various plants announced that they are joining. But let me explain the atmosphere that prevails in #Belarus and what many citizens feel. Military trucks, paddy wagons have been brought to the capital.
#Lukashenko gave protesters time “to think”. Starting Monday,he'd respond. His officials and state propaganda with the help of a Russian media crew are blaming “foreign forces and instigators” for the protests. Hence security forces are only making the situation "stable"
Defense minister Viktar Khrenin made bizarre assumption that Belarus security forces’ attempts to stabilise the situation will be presented as genocide, and justify intervention of F-16 #US jet fighters from the base in #Poland. Is he trying to justify the use of extensive force?
