Indiana sets its third new single-day record in a week for new #coronavirus cases, with 1,962. 7.7% of today's batch of tests came back positive; among 1st-time patients, it's 18.5%. The 7-day positivity average, which runs a week behind, continues an 18-day rise, to 5.4%.
The 5.4% 7-day positivity average is the highest since September 7. The average for 1st-time patients jumps to 9.9%, the highest since May 21.
23 newly reported Indiana #coronavirus deaths bring the state's death toll to 3,632. @StateHealthIN has also identified five more presumptive #COVID19 deaths, for a total death toll of 3,864.
1,355 Hoosiers are hospitalized with #coronavirus. That's two fewer than yesterday, but those two days are the highest since May 14. The count has been over 1,000 for 11 days.

13 counties, one more than yesterday, have positivity averages over 10%. Four of those -- Fountain (22%), Warren, Kosciusko and Union -- are over ISDH's red line of 15%.
9 of the 13 counties over 10% are listed as nearing high risk (or, in Fountain's case, already there) on the weekly #COVID score updated yesterday. Brown County's case numbers are low despite the rate (few tests); the other 3 were under 10% when the score was calculated.
An additional 12 counties are in ISDH's orange zone. Nine of them are there because of high case numbers, while positivity in Steuben, Blackford and Gibson dropped below 10% on today's update; there's a 4-day gap between the positivity report and the #COVID score.
Benton and Owen Counties have Indiana's lowest positivity averages at .4%.
Indiana first recorded 1,000 cases in a day on July 24. It reached that level 11 times in August and 10 times in September. There have been at least 1,096 cases on 13 of the 15 daily reports in October.
