1,172 new Indiana #coronavirus cases, the lowest one-day total in eight days; the last five days were the five highest ever. 6.1% of today's batch of tests came back positive, and 15.7% of 1st-time tests; both are the lowest in three days.

The 7-day positivity average, which runs a week behind, holds steady at 5.3% for a third straight day; it's the highest since Sep 8. The rate for 1st-time tests jumps to 9.6%, highest since May 27.

14 newly reported Indiana #coronavirus deaths bring the death toll to 3,609. Counting presumptive #COVID19 deaths, the total death toll is 3,836.

.@StateHealthIN has also posted its weekly #COVID scores, combining positivity & number of cases. Pike County, in the high-risk red zone last wk due to a #nursinghome outbreak, drops to orange (moderate to high). Fountain County, w/IN's highest positivity at 23.2%, is now red.

Besides Fountain (red), 21 counties are in the orange zone; 24 counties are in blue (low risk).

While 22 counties are scored orange or red, only 14 have positivity rates of 10% or more. 9 of the 22, including Vanderburgh, Elkhart, Delaware and Henry, are orange due to high numbers of cases. (Brown County is at 12.5% but is yellow because that reflects few cases/few tests.)

Dearborn County is in yellow despite 10.4% positivity due to the five-day gap between #COVID score data and the positivity data. Risk levels are based on Sunday's data and had Dearborn at 9.1%.

Cass County still has Indiana's highest overall per-capita infection rate, due to the outbreak at the Logansport Tyson Foods plant back in April. One in 18 residents has been infected. The county is back in orange, this time (like Pike) due to #nursinghome outbreaks.

Statewide, #longtermcare had 753 new cases in the last week (457 residents, 296 staffers); 68 of the 110 Indiana #COVID19 deaths reported this week were #LTC residents. LTC residents have accounted for 59% of Indiana's total #coronavirus deaths (not counting presumptive cases).

Broadly speaking, the orange and red counties are clustered in southwest, northeast, western and eastern Indiana. The blue (low-risk) counties are those between Indy and Lake County, and those SE and immediately SW of Indy (Marion and Lake Counties themselves are both yellow).

1,357 Hoosiers are hospitalized with #coronavirus, 69 more than yesterday and the most since May 14. Of those, 396 are in intensive care, 14 more than yesterday and the most since May 29.

Benton County has the lowest positivity average in the state at .4%.
