This is the Covert Human Intelligence Sources (Criminal Conduct) Bill.

I'm at a loss as to how to explain what "Government" is enabling.

How about, a Government operative may commit any crime including torture or murder against you and be above the law?

parliament.us16.list-manage.com/track/click?u=…
What caught my attention was this highly unusual opening clause.

Anything relying on a declarative statement from Priti Patel (of all people) on Human Rights is immediately suspect.
It's important to read these bills with amendments and explanatory notes since this Government tends to obscure things by writing them across documents.

Maybe you think this is appalling but limited? Only Home Office?

Gambling Commission?
Food Standards?
publications.parliament.uk/pa/bills/cbill…
This is the famous offending paragraph giving Government operatives the power of life and death over any of us...

So I looked up Nazi Germany.

The power of life and death was reserved for the Führer.
We delegate it to the Environmental Agency.

Churchill would be proud
In Ancient Greece, 700 BC, a bloke called Draco [Δράκων] first wrote down Oral laws.

The laws were written so harshly that draconian is now associated with unjustifiable law, such as this.

So under what very tight language can the state kill on demand?
Hmm what's "section 5"?
Oh that's good.
To prevent disorder.
Or if it's economically beneficial

So basically on any day of the week containing a "Y"?
This is the sort of freedom of operation that Dictators get horny about. It would be impossible to pass in any democracy with a functional constitution.

They'd need things like judicial agreement or eyes of 3 ministers.

Hmm I wonder who does sign this off? Who is "the person"
Dead reader I'm writing as I read this so we're discovering it together.

I feel compelled to remind you this Gov loopreduced the number of HMG doctors required to detain you indefinitely without appeal.
To one

And this how clear Prickly Petal is in defining "the person"
There are a considerable number of hard right supporters of this Gov who look very similar to Trump's ultra right libertarians, with maybe fewer guns. The have a BIG FEAR - the Deep State

We're not yet at person, but list is already so long it's the Mariana Trench of Deep States
Oh now, this is interesting. We seem to have enabled powers beyond those of the SS while not reviewing or amending who can grant them.

You don't know section 30 off by heart? Shame on you dear reader.

Section 30 will test your Sir Humphry powers to the limit.

See u next tweet
So who is it in that long list of authorities that can authorise shoot to kill?

Yep, anyone Prickly Petal says it is.

And who is it who sanctions and controls The Home Secretary, ensuring checks and balances?

You got it.

The Home Secretary herself.

An Open Letter to the Prime Minister, The Right Honourable Boris Johnson MP, on the clarity or lack of #Brexit advice within or supporting his latest campaign.

Subject: The difficulties to overcome for many of us to prepare are insurmountable.

Advertising may be premature.
🇬🇧1
@BorisJohnson
Prime Minister,
As a matter of public record, we must point out for you the difference between telling people that they are unprepared and telling them for what they are to prepare.

The latter is usually a prerequisite for the former.
Examples follow:
🇬🇧2
You or your assistants have run three advertising campaigns instructing us to prepare for #Brexit and to take advantage of its opportunities.

If I may, let me deal with both, just in case the details have been "skipped over."

1. PREPARE
2. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OPPORTUNITIES

TLDR. Many if not all Johnson Gov mistakes on #Covid19 are explained by just one thing.

Treating it like Flu.

Trouble is they're still doing that. And it's no more like Flu now than it was in March.

Someone has to remove these negligent idiots...

Thread.
1. Since March I've sent 100s of tweets on one Topic.

UKGov made a huge mistake.
They took a strategy for Pandemic Influenza, applied it but didn't allow for #COVID19 differences.

That's NOT OK once.
But what if they're still doing it.

NOW in October??

If the facts fit⏬
2. Psychology textbooks are FULL of examples of Group think. Invariably we find after the largest disasters in history, the initial errors were small.

For want of a small rubber seal, Challenger was lost.
For want of a radio so was the Bay of Pigs.

Bad decisions compound.

I'm not normally one for quoting the Archbishop of Canterbury, but he nails jt

In one month Johnson/Cummings have pushed to legalise:

International Law Breaking
Domestic Law Breaking
Removd right to life and not to be tortured

And willing back bench stooges have approved it. Image
Oh you'd like some examples?

How about if Priti Patel wishes to murder you, she can, there is no legal answer and no check or balance?

As the bishop said. What does our Democracy stand on?

If draconian powers to break laws are given indiscreetly to pretty much every Government Department.

As the bishop said. "On what foundation does our Democracy Stand"

BREXIT NEWS Boris Johnson launches advertising drive warning businesses ‘time is running out’ to prepare for Brexit amid no-deal threat independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi… via @circleboom
Probably, and I'm just guessing. Preparation requires some indication of what they're getting.
A good point. If you wanted to prepare, this is the only way you could do it properly

I'm not suggesting Boris Johnson is corrupt. The man is simply tremendously unlucky.

Every time he talks up #NoDealBrexit, Sterling just happens to slump and all his hedge fund sponsors, as a matter of coincidence, make a killing.

Imagine if less forgiving people knew this.
I'm not saying that Michael Gove is a deceitful liar with a cocaine habit.

It's just tremendously unlucky that his predictions never come true, and that his promises are negated by events.

The sniffing through high pressure interviews thing. Fake news.

The issues of #manchesterlockdown and #Lockdown2 are the consequence of a failed plan, for which an alternative has not been proposed.

Would it help to explain (scientifically), in this situation

1. What should be happening?
2. Why it isn't?
3. How to move forward?
1. WHAT SHOULD BE HAPPENING?

We should be using a standard Supression strategy.

In that scenario an area in which a spike occurs should be quickly and comprehensively shut down until all cases are identified and isolated.

The "area" would be far smaller than those in debate.
Think of an area the size of a city district or smaller. But under a much stronger complete quarantine. And for max 2 weeks duration.

There would be no need for an national lockdown since areas would be contained and controlled.

And the areas would be cleared up and solved.
