⃣ Awareness. Most policymakers are challenged to understand how many #health workers they have, their locations, status & latest qualifications when making #health decisions. These challenges are exacerbated during crises like #COVID19 where real-time data are essential.
⃣ Self-regulation. Effective human resource information systems are not built overnight. Most resulted through #healthpolicy mandates & required #multisectoral governance & buy-in, including health, IT, education, labor, finance, private sectors, as done in the #Philippines.
⃣ Adaptiveness. Robust, high-quality #healthworker information systems serve many #healthsystem purposes, from national strategic planning to #gender analyses to #communication networks to protect frontline health workers during #COVID19, as done in #Senegal.
⃣ Diversity. #Communityhealth integration including using #QI methods empowers more health systems actors to take action with data. Facility-community worker models promote task reallocation and site-level #optimization.
To #reimaginehealthsystems 4 better health & social justice, look for “triple win” investments eg #healthworker information systems that 1) support decent work 2) strengthen health systems response, 3) deliver better care for more people. #HSR2020#investinhealthworkers /end
