Trump loses yet again in #Pennsylvania. From 3rd Circuit: "The campaign's claims have no merit." The Trump-appointed judge says the challenged ballots are few, margin of Biden victory is 81k and the suit "never claims fraud or that votes were cast by illegal voters."
"Though it alleges many conclusions, the Complaint is light on facts," the appeals court opinion states. The opinion was written by Judge Stephanos Bibas, who Trump appointed.
This is CLASSIC chiding as the judge writes Trump's campaign"waited almost a week after #ElectionDay to file the original complaint, almost another week to amend it, then another 3 days to amend it again. Its delay is inequitable, and further delay would wreak further inequity."
If Trump's comedic ensemble of rag-tag lawyers thinks this case is going to be reviewed by #SCOTUS after THREE separate judges have killed it, think again. This "case" has been done since #Philly clinched the vote Nov. 7. Time to pack up the mini-desk & move on to the next grift.

The Wife and I need a new thriller/crime/mystery series on Netflix. She will divorce me if I make her watch another baking show. We have seen Ozark, Dead to Me, Vera, Wentworth, Endeavor, 7 Mins, a bunch of Scandinavian stuff. My preference is no subtitles. Suggestions?
Well, you folks are amazing. We have seen a lot of your suggestions, like Killing Eve (we ARE lesbians...), every Harlan Cobin, and Hinterland, which I love and The Wife does not. But many of these series we have not seen, so yay! We are excited to have a new list. TYVM 💜
We are both so appreciative of the time y'all took to help us. (You saved me from a night of The Wife making me watch a bazillion trailers.) But also it is fun to see what other folks are watching and what you like. (And maybe I can get The Wife to give me HBO for Christmas.🎄🎁)
No one wants to hear this, but in addition to 263k deaths from #COVID19, Trump's failure to act has decimated the educations of the poorest kids in America whose access to online learning is limited. This has harmed K-3 kids most, as these are crucial years for reading and math.
Lack of consistent classroom activity--interaction between trained elementary school teachers as well as other student peers--has also stunted the socialization growth of these kids. Wealthier students have been able to access learning pods and tutoring, but have also suffered.
And then there is this: 240k first graders just disappearing off the rolls, as @60Minutes reported two weeks ago. Where is Betsy DeVos on this?
7,000 Hillsborough County students were unaccounted for during the COVD-19 pandemic. Where are they? wtsp.com/article/news/h…
There is a clarion call now to embrace the @GOP so the nation can "heal" and unify. Resist that. Resist erasing the history of the past 4yrs and what has transpired and how dangerous and damaging it has been to the fabric of this nation as well as to individual lives.
1/
You may think #resistance is over because #BidenHarris were elected. But the same @GOP who elected and supported Trump at the expense of American lives remains in power. They still ensconced a judiciary that values a small group of religious extremists over public health.
2/
Absolving criminals who tried to subvert democracy, erase the will of the people and invalidate Black votes in #Philadelphia and #Detroit cannot be sanctioned under guise of "unity." There can be no unity with people who are opposed to our core democratic values.

Roxane Gay said at the #NationalBookAwards that writers have an obligation to write about times like these. One of my besties and I were working on a book when Bush took us to war and we both veered off to write about it and then we got cancer and I did a book about that instead.
Life overtakes art all the time. You can never prepare for it. I was mid-way through a novel about child abduction and women's losses when I was paralyzed and I haven't stopped being shell-shocked long enough to go back to that because I want to write about paralysis but can't.
Helluva metaphor. Except I am living it. I want to write about having the same view out the same window for 4yrs and that today is day 1,565 of MY quarantine. I thought that would make THIS quarantine easier. It did not.
A lot to take in.
#ThePoliceToldMe that if I was lying about the rape that almost killed me, I would be prosecuted. After five hours of questioning and being photographed nude in a storage closet for the report, the SVU detectives apologized when they saw the extent of my injuries.
1/
#ThePoliceToldMe that a serial rapist had been raping women on his lunch hour for months and I was another of his victims. There was never any notification to my poor, 95% Black neighborhood that this was happening so we could stay safe.
2/
#ThePoliceToldMe I would have to ride in a locked police car like I was the perpetrator, not the victim, to the SVU. Olivia Benson is a fictional character and no one follows up on your rape.

In 2016 when Bernie refused to concede, Obama invited him to the White House and both he and Biden asked him politely to stop aiding the GOP by claiming Hillary was not the legitimate winner. But Bernie claimed--without evidence--that there would be a contested convention.
The impact of that counterfactual narrative created the "Bernie or Bust" phalanx. 25% of Bernie voters voted for Trump. Another portion voted 3rd party. To this day many claim that the nomination was "stolen" from Bernie, even though he lost in a landslide. This harmed Hillary.
Refusing to acknowledge the facts and promoting a false alternative narrative because you think you should have won weakens people's belief in government. Trump is doing that now. He has Bernie's precedent and sees it didn't hurt Bernie--it hurt Hillary. Trump thinks he can win.
