@irumanyika@JosephAkol1@URAuganda@SRKimbugwe@VSeruma Thank you Ian for taking time to respond to my queries on #Logbooks#Validation. I have previously failed to trigger a response from @URAuganda which shd not be the case. I personally think URA should intervene in such a case, but, I will take your advice, and give this a shot.
Hopefully new @URA_CG can engage a little more often than once a month .. Reason, 4rm little I know, he brings superior digital, computer, DIY, internet skills to URA to make it easier, automate, for clients, a new normal, drive up revenue!
Dear @URA_CG Sir, the scenario I paint above, happened before with TIN registration. Some of us had to pay agents to get TINs, until it was automated. For me to validate or transfer, I do not need to move around so long as I have the details.
@irumanyika@JosephAkol1@URAuganda@SRKimbugwe@VSeruma@URA_CG In my case, I called the original owner, but guess she does not know how to use a computer to effect the changes. It is her to be penalized by URA for ignorance, not me who is computer literate! In such a case, URA should confirm details and intervene, all online, automated.
@irumanyika@JosephAkol1@URAuganda@SRKimbugwe@VSeruma@URA_CG Now, I have to go to Police, in this times of SOPs, get a letter, then go to a newspaper, put adverts - stating that I have failed to trace the original owner, yet I talked to the same on Phone. What's this? It undermines all automation efforts you have in mind - so I think.
@irumanyika@JosephAkol1@URAuganda@SRKimbugwe@VSeruma@URA_CG If orginal owner is computer literate, it costs sh0 (zero) to effect the transfer from old log book, to e-book, and about sh90k to do a transfer on computer. Without this, one can spend up to sh300k on agents and insiders for validation, and sh600k for transfers. LOOK INTO THIS.
In my life I have faced challenges and intimidating tasks. But never have I been faced with formidable challenges such as we now face.
