We can not play surprised when:
🔹Phase 1a is 70% White
🔹 Phase 1b (65+yo) are 77% White
🔹 70% of pharmacies are in white neighborhoods
🔹 Black/Brown communities are 2x less likely to have hospital

#BlackAndBrown Americans basically have to had entered into 2020 with #OneOrganAlreadyFailing before they can qualify for the #COVIDvaccine at this point, aka #PreExistingConditions.

This is #TuskegeePartTwo: withholding a life saving intervention while you’ve studied our deaths

I’m tired of America trying to act shock that Black people die at higher rates and younger ages when your policies INTENTIONALLY set it up that way.

I refuse to play dumb in 2021.

Dear @VP Pence,
I wanted to give you a few tips as you begin to prepare for your debate w/ @SenKamalaHarris. It’s on the nuances of arguing w/ a black woman.
1)If she says, “First of all”, know that you’ve already lost. she is about to read you for all of your life. Take cover

2) If she lets you continue to talk and tilts her head to the side with a little smirk... you are about to get BODIED with facts. She peeped your lie and is allowing you to dig that hole that you will want to crawl in when she’s done. If you see it, stop mid sentence. Give in.

3) If you see an eyebrow raised it’s because you just said something absolutely disrespectful. Shows you don’t have home training and the brow is serving as a warning bell for you to shape up and tighten up.

Each specialty needs a DEI Officer. One that analyzes data for bias & engages in strategic planning to augment practices to include a health equity lens. There needs to be accountability of such efforts w/ standardized metrics for providers & depts alike. Time to fix the broken.

We KNOW the problems. We’ve reported the same death rates & disparities for generations on end. We don’t need to hear more numbers. We need to implement solutions. Every single physician, nurse, & provider should have a report card giving outcomes along lines of race & gender.

The department should also have the same report card of their collective averages of those same metrics. Compare them nationally. Every quarter there should be a review. Identifications of strengths and weaknesses of the individual providers and flaws of the system.

I’m pissed off... A Thread on #ElijahMcClain

It took 4yrs of College, 4yrs of Med School, 4yrs of Residency, 1yr of Fellowship to be a Double-Board Certified Anesthesiologist.

I use #Ketamine to put people FULLY to sleep, & NEVER have I EVER used 500mg of ketamine to do so.

500mg IM is OVER the dose I would use for a GENERAL ANESTHETIC! Hell, for sedation you would barely use 1/3rd of that dose.
Ketamine carries risk of laryngospasm, cardiovascular collapse, & aspiration if you vomit. Bc of that I have to have full consent, so did #ElijahMclain?

His final words, My God.

How can you not be left angry after that?! Did anyone think to say, is there someone we can call for you? To speak to his Mother instead of violate his body and take his life.

Every. Single. Participant. Should. Be. Charged.

And I do mean everyone.

#AhmaudArbery, I pause as I write this unsure what to say. Your name should have never been added to the list of those like #TrayvonMartin, #PhilandoCastile, #TamirRice. Haven’t we marched enough, cried enough, screamed enough. Don’t they see your worth?

I have a nephew your age. When I look into your eyes, I see him. And what a beautiful soul he is, and I hesitate to say, you were. My heart literally breaks for you. For your family, your mom. But hearts breaking is not enough. It won’t bring you back. And that’s what cuts deep.

It takes more than the black community to scream out for recognition of our humanity. We can’t march to fix a problem we ourselves did not create. So allies of all races and ethnicities, I need you to find your voice like YESTERDAY. Speak up! At your dinner tables, Speak up.
