So the guy gets food phobia - loses 2 much weight in 2 months - close to 12 kg - rechecks liver test - AST and ALT enzymes are higher than before - fellow is sure its 2 late and he is going to develop cirrhosis - so he goes 2 a Gastroenterologist at a suburban clinic +

Gastro doc does his ultrasound liver - sees grade 3 fatty liver frm prev Grade 1 - says its bad (on radiological assessment). Liver tests show AST 200 ALT 102. Patient repeatedly asks if he had developed cirrhosis

Gastro doc orders endoscopy - now patient is almost comatose with anxiety. He undergoes sedation for endoscopy and endoscopy is ACTUALLY normal. BUT the doctor takes biopsy from stomach and small intestine to look for H.pylori bacteria (when there are no ulcers at all) +

Patient is told come after 1 week for biopsy report discussion. Nw he is ultra anxious. He cant breathe. Why did the doc take a biopsy - is not biopsy = cancer! - did he hav cancer? Why is every1 silent? Wer, wer answers! He goes back home wit standard GP level stupid meds +

Now ALT 198, AST 202
Advised liver biopsy - half dead frm all the ordeal, the patient gets the biopsy done - another week of pain and anxiety - but biopsy shows only fatty liver and nothing else.
This guy is stumped
The doc says ur fine, go home +

Nw ALT is 318 and AST 248
This patient is going to lose it soon.
So he did wat everyone does.
He stopped going to doctors and magicians.
He went on with his work, gained some weight.
Gud life and gud food.
Then came call from Qatar for new job

Has fatty liver +F2 fibrosis & herbal drug induced liver injury - withdrawal of drug, diet management and assurance/teaching abt fatty liver improved him +

Overall for consult (3hr) + actual medicines, he spent 1500 rupees.
Total spent on mute Gastroenterologist and #Ayurveda guy over last 6-9 months - close to 1 lakh rupees for placebo & harmful herbs
EBM is good, but plz practice the ART of #Medicine, not #business of it
