Bad US trajectory—proportion of cases #B117 is increasing at a rate of ∼7.5% per day.

2) There were several introductions of B.1.1.7 in December 2020. Florida and California the earliest. And #B117 was actually introduced twice in Florida!
3) most US states seeing increases again.... 34 states in fact had increases in last week.
4) I have NEVER seen a CDC director pleading so emotionally before. This is serious people!!
5) Damnit we need to get real. These “impending doom” words are not things a CDC director uses lightly.
6) Study authors also note: “We found that while the fraction of B.1.1.7 varied by state, the variant increased at a logistic rate (~exponential below 50%) with a roughly weekly doubling rate”

This is unfortunate—a Baltimore manufacturer two #COVID19 vaccines accidentally conflated ingredients several weeks ago, ruining about 15 million doses of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine and forcing regulators to delay authorization of production lines.

DISGUSTED beyond words. A 65 year old Asian lady brutally kicked and beaten in broad daylight in Manhattan. Worse—3 bystanders did nothing!! Even more worse—the security guard closed the door to ignore it!! She is still hospitalized with fractured pelvis.

Um, this is totally WRONG.

@CDCDirector: “Our data from CDC today suggest that vaccinated people do not carry the virus.”

We have lots of data you can often still carry it. Fauci even says so.

I love the CDC—but they may have to walk this back. #COVID19
2) 90% efficacy for the mRNA vaccines against infection is *not* 100%. This is why Fauci says we still need to mask if vaccinated. Image
3) Why am I nitpicking? Because this is important. Saying “you don’t carry the virus” is what right wing anti mask people say those vaccinated. This is what Rand Paul says to justify no masks. And for asymptomatic cases, protection is not perfect either. academic.oup.com/cid/advance-ar…
