BREAKING: @SecDef issues memo to senior @DeptofDefense leadership on #extremism in the ranks

Orders immediately:
-new definition "extremism" for uniformed personnel

-training for soon-to-be veterans who could be recruitment targets

-standardized screening for military recruits
MORE: @SecDef says @DeptofDefense will commission a study on " extremist behavior within our Total Force...to include gaining greater fidelity on the scope of the problem"
MORE: @DeptofDefense Counter Extremism Working Group (CEWG) will also look at:

-whether to amend the Uniformed Code of Military Justice
-how to better support insider threat programs
-examine ways to screen social media/public data for the vetting processes
-education/training
