#SupremeCourt to hear appeals by West Bengal government and State Law Minister Moloy Ghatak challenging a June 9 order of #CalcuttaHC refusing to take their reply affidavits on record in the transfer plea filed by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the

The plea states that the rights of the State government and the Law Minister shouldn’t be closed "especially when CBI has been allowed to file additional affidavits at different stages." @MamataOfficial @AITCofficial #supremecourt

The Calcutta High Court in its June 9 order had noted that, "they (CM, law minister and state) have waited for the arguments in the case to be substantially completed before seeking to place on record their pleadings in response."

WB Govt has submitted that @MamataOfficial is neither the accused nor the complainant
in the case sought to be transferred by the CBI.

WB Law Minister @GhatakMoloy says unlike the
issue pertaining the bail of the accused persons, wherein the liberty of an individual is at stake, #CBI failed to show any urgency, on account of which the plea seeking transfer of the pending proceedings is moved

Dwivedi: If this affidavit is not brought on record, then objection taken ministers who if were not present In court then how did they knew about the proceedings. The answer is in affidavit

Dwivedi: this is essential. procedure is an agency of justice. CBI wants to uncover truth, they have to find out truth as to what happened in the court. They themselves don't want to know about it.

Sr Adv Singh: under rule 34 i have a right to place the affidavit, it was just a courtesy that we asked the court. I do not need a permission. CBI never took a permission.
