One of the key takeaways from the book: It doesn't matter how unpopular GOP positions are on taxes, healthcare or civil rights -- or how effective or popular Biden's proposals or programs may be. Dangers of a "soft coup" lie ahead, no political violence needed.
The GOP is putting pieces in place to overturn the election much more easily at the state and federal level next time around if Biden wins. Anyone who might object to refusing to certify the election is being removed with the blessing of Trump and the RNC. If GOP wins in 2022...
Game over for democracy, welcome to the Hungary-style pseudo-democracy of "competitive authoritarianism" by the end of end of January 2025. Some GOP-run states won't certify Democratic victors in close Senate races, Congress won't accept electoral votes for Democratic president.
