Court: Mr AG and ASG, we have across in the last few days, particularly after the cyclone hit the coast, we have come across various newspaper reports which says that the coastline is full of filth and garbage left behind.
Court: The newspaper reports paint a very sorry picture over and above the coastline faces, the greater problem is to the danger to marine line. We were considering of initiating a suo motu and seek responses on how you propose to deal the problem.
Court: The reason why we want to deal with the problem right now is because it happens more during the monsoon. We are conscious that administration is under fair deal of pressure. But the problem is quite serious. And cannot wait till the end of COVID.
Court: You have to activate your political machinery to not run political rallies. If you cannot do it, the Court will do it.
The courts are shut because of COVID, we are not able to work. And politicians are conducting rallies. Can they not wait?
Court: How will we control COVID with such rallies?
And we expected 5000 people, but there were 25000 people. And the rally was for what purpose?
Naming an airport?
Is the airport functional? No. First there is a name, and then airport.
Court: There are rallies in the State for Maratha reservation. That issue is pending before the Supreme Court.
Let them take a decision. Why cannot the politicians go before the electorate and say that the issue is pending before a Court?
Court: What is the government going to do about it? Why not wait for the Court’s decision?
Are they less important than the people conducting vaccination camps? Everyone wants political mileage. Can it not wait?
[School fees] Allahabad High Court will shortly hear a matter regarding regulation of school fees in private educational institutions across Uttar Pradesh.
AG Anil Kumbhakoni submits that the State of Maharashtra will not wait for Centre’s approval. They will proceed with implementing the door to door vaccination without centre’s approval.
AG: We want to do it on an experimental basis. And we propose to start it from Pune District.
As we had conducted a drive for the students going abroad. Taking the experience from that, we will do the same.
We will invite invitations from citizens.
