1/ This is a brilliant talk. I appreciated it, in particular being both a computational physicist and a HW veteran.

The bad habits is SW were already spreading back in 2001.

2/ I’m wondering if there are still people around today who would be able to do something like E04DGF and CVode. I doubt that anything has improved at those levels. Is E04DGF still the fastest?
3/ The problem is also, that SW will come and bite the semiconductors, so the HW itself. After having done some work with Cadence I can only say: what a mess. It’s a patch and collection of pieces that they have procured over time. But nothing is consistent across modules.
4/ Back in 2001, we were still working somewhat low level and taking care in optimization of solvers. But the progress of HW made us lazy. Waiting 6 months for the better HW had better results than trying to squeeze out performance by e.g. preconditioning differential equations,
5/ ..the mathematical problem, e.g. by conditioning the matrices to make CVode run faster. My own laziness exploded in 2003 when I switched to Python from C++. More productive in coding, but a waste of HW use performance. I have never written a C++ line of code since then. 🤷
6/ I think that both SW and HW will collapse rapidly at some point. So what will happen then to:

electric cars
digital money
data in some cloud
digital workplace at home
communication devices
vax passport 🤡

Buy a book about hunting, gathering and farming I recommend.
7/ Today people learn coding using Jupyter notebooks. Good night I say. I hate it, but that’s where I ended too. Those people starting like this will never go down to low level or write a consistent piece of object oriented complex software.
8/ Today society has stopped valuing mathematics and intelligence as the most important skill for hiring. Instead even VC firms and startups are implementing the deadly intersectional equity cult. That will end in self destruction.
9/ The entire society is moving away from merit and skills towards the self destructive equity. Schools, politics, media, everywhere. That’s why we are unable to “solve”, understand the Covid crises. Stupidity is everywhere. We are going down. Inevitably. But it’s exciting too.
I had the source code but lost it 😌

K: Die Dosis.
L: Was war denn das Problem.
K: Zu niedrig.

1/ #Myocarditis/#Pericarditis rates after #vaccination.

#CDC #VAERS US data (June) versus German #PEI (July).

I start with the result graph. For details and source see below. Conclusion: the US and German data are very comparable. Image
2/ Sources.

CDC USA report: June 23, 2021, Tom Shimabukuro

Paul Ehrlich (PEI) Germany report, July 15, 2021
3/ Data preparation:

1) The CDC report is very well done and properly normalized. No further calculations are needed. All is done and ready.

2) The German report is poor. No normalization by doses, nor by sex. In General the report is of a very low quality.

1/ CureVac trial fails.

#CureVac opted for a technology using unmodified #Uridin in their #RNA, a big limitation.

In a German TV interview, CureVac states: "we wanted to use the more honest approach"

To me it sounds like: "We have an IP issue."

reuters.com/business/healt…
2/ The story is interesting. It seems to have been long clear, that the unmodified approach isn't working. The immune system attacks unmodified RNA making higher (effective) dosing impossible.

Here is a nice article (including good links):

berthub.eu/articles/posts…
3/ Both #Moderna and #Biontech used #Pseudouridin which allows them to have 10x higher dosage compared with the unmodified approach. The media further state, that the dose was "unfortunately" chosen too low in the CureVac trial.

No. It's an fundamental technology limitation.

1/ A great summary! After having peer reviewed many papers in the past, I can't leave this uncommented. There is just too much truth in it. But also many things missing. @markdhumphries

elemental.medium.com/the-absurdity-…
2/ "only one of Einstein’s 300 or so published papers was ever peer-reviewed, which so disgusted him that he never submitted a paper to that journal again."

He was not alone. Nature rejected Kary Mullis PCR paper (Nobel Price awared).

And what about drasticresearch.org/our-works/
3/ Peer Review is nothing more than "please have a look". It's a basic check, not a quality endorsment. Most papers I received were Chinese low quality papers pushing into high-end journals like Phys. Rev. B or Phys. Rev. Letters. I rejected (or redirected elswhere) most of them.

files.catbox.moe/mbemd5.pdf

1/ @ZDFMarkusLanz liefert wieder esoterische Real Satire.

Tipp: h-index < 70 NICHT(!) einladen.
