1/ Davison is an employee of the @CrisisGroup, a New York based organization that claims to work to "....prevent wars....& ...build a more peaceful world."

@CrisisGroup claims to be an independent organization but a cursory examination of their finances tells a different story. A very different story!!
Their biggest nongovernmental donor is Soros' Open Society Foundation (nothing to look here)

49% of their funding (19 mill USD) actually came from government grants. And who are these gracious countries? The Netherlands (5.9 mill), Canada (3.5 mill), Norway (1.5 mill), Sweden (1.03 mill). Other funders include EU (2.7 mill), France, Finland and Ireland. 🤔

Are we Ethiopians being paranoid when we ask why EU funded organizations (@SahanResearch, @CrisisGroup) are engaging in #InformationLaundering against #Ethiopia using European news outlets, later to be used by @EU_Commission diplomats?!

2/ Now that we know who is funding @CrisisGroup & @wdavison10|s gems of Anglo-Saxon wisdom, let's see which outlets are enabling his spree of #InformationLaundering.

Since Nov 4, @wdavison10 has been cited as an expert on Ethiopia in 37 articles & have composed 4 opinion pieces. The usual customers are top on the list. @AlJazeera_World & @FRANCE24 have made use of his 'expertise' in 5 articles each, while @dwnews is a close 2nd with 4.

The usual #InformationLaundering afficionados are all here including @BBC (@vivnunis 3×), @Reuters (2×) @CNN (@elizamackintosh), @nytimes (the Irish Duo @declanwalsh, @MarksSimon), @washingtonpost, @AP(Cara Anna)...the list goes on!

3/@wdavison10 has also written 4 opinion pieces of which 2 were for @guardian (about alleged atrocities committed by ENDF & EDF). If you find any opeds written by him re #TPLF attrocities in #Afar & #Amhara, let me know.

4/ One of his opinion pieces appeared on @allafrica, an outlet that claims to be "the ONLY TRULY PAN-AFRICAN news organization," owned and run by the AllAfrican Foundation based in....wait for it.... Washington DC! 🤦 You just can't make this up!!!

Further inquiry shows that this 'beacon' of 'Pan-Africanism' has published 100 articles on the conflict in Ethiopia of which a vast majority are critical of #Ethiopia including de Waal's infamous eulogy to Seyoum Mesfin!

5/ What makes @wdavison10, The Mechanical Brit (ala the Mechanical Turk) different from the other disinformation launderers is his impressive lack of imagination. He is a #TPLF-bot that operates based on two very simple commands.

If you input #Ethiopia or #Eritrea, the output @wdavison10 spits out is always, 100% of the time, is negative. It doesn't matter whether you are talking about elections, dams or peace between neighboring countries.

If you input #TPLF, the output @wdavison10 spits out is always, 100% of the time, justifications & rationalizations. It doesn't matter whether you're talking about insurrection, invasion, massacres or looting.

This might sound harsh but I am only stating the facts!

@wdavison10|s newest angle is the #TPLF/#TDF differentiation. Here, WD is trying his hand at #DiffusionOfResponsibility. He is laying the groundwork for #TPLF/#TDF to disavow responsibility for the massacres perpetrated against #Afar & #Amhara in the coming months. #TPLF =#TDF!

7/ The articles refer to @wdavison10 as a 'senior Ethiopia analyst'. Who's giving these middle-aged white British men the title of 'senior Ethiopia analyst'?!
@CrisisGroup, I think there're several million #Ethiopians who qualify as 'senior US/UK/EU analyst!' out here 🙄
