….Al-Tanf has always had a no fly zone/exclusion zone, so not exactly sure what this is getting at?
A drone reportedly entered #Syria|n airspace from #Iraq. There are multiple reports of a number of drones, and reports are being embellished at this moment in time, once I can confirm details, i’ll update accordingly.
There are some logical threads circulating linking this attack to the airstrikes last week in Palmyra, it’s not a notion that is impossible per say, as this is the route the IDF would have taken to target Palmyra
According to @SkyNewsArabia_B sourcing military sources saying the attack was conducted by rockets and not drones, however the investigations are still on going.
No injuries in the coordinated attack against Al-Tanf, #Syria.
Suicide Drone and rocket attack now confirmed which explains why the confusion crept in earlier in this thread, source confirmed the drone strike early on but the rocket reports came later after the initial tweet.
considering the exclusion zone around Al-Tanf, as rockets were also involved, they (in theory for my brain) would have to be 122mm rockets (Grads?) with the distance to think of.

For the last few hours I’ve been back and forth on these images, they are unconfirmed (I can not stress the fact they are unconfirmed) images of Al-Tanf Garrison, Syria. Reportedly showing the damage from last nights attack. The satellite tower and area matches recent imagery
But the building in the background just doesn’t line up so I’m sharing these just in case, but I have my reservation until proven otherwise.
I will say again, unconfirmed, in the hope that 3 times is lucky and people don’t get the wrong message.
A couple of things to note, cap is still on and it's not exactly damaged so it appears to be a staged setup, probably trying to send a message/warning, we've seen these SAM's successful in use by Houthi's, so we know they work, per say.
On the 8th October 2021 reports began to circulate of Air Defense active over Homs Governorate, #Syria. Shortly after the initial reports, sources and social media begin to report that the area of T4 Airbase near Tiyas was reportedly struck.
The next day, initial investigation had begun, and initial low resolution imagery courtesy of @sentinel_hub confirmed that the runway at T4 airbase had been struck. This wasn’t exactly new, as highlighted previously, the runway at T4 has been targeted multiple times…
In the past (included are two examples of previous strikes). The odd thing about this one was it was conducted during Shabbat on a Friday evening, this is rare, and if I remember correctly it’s the fast Friday night strike since 2018, which oddly…
Initial reports of #Syria|n Air Defense active east of #Homs, near Palmyra
Missiles reported seen travelling over Al-Tanf.
This is not the first time we have seen the IDF conduct multiple strikes in a short number of days. Looks like we have a SEAD mission first, again. Example for earlier this year.
Overnight the #IDF were conducting an arrest operation when a gunfight broke out, the gunfights were in a number of locations. Palestinian media claims an ambush was created, however this remains unconfirmed. 3 #Hamas Al-Qassam members, 1 #PIJ Saraya-Quds member and reportedly
another unconfirmed was killed in the gunfight, these were in Burqin and Biddu. Two #IDF SF were evacuated to hospital due to sustaining seriously wounds during the gunfight.
#Israel|i PM Bennett released a comment earlier today saying the operation was nessersary and time bound due to immediate threat (paraphrasing). The media for the factions have released several statements threatening a response to Israel.
