A #protest in #Panjshir:
According to @aamajnews24, some residents of Anaba district of Panjshir claim that an innocent young man named Mohammad Agha shot dead by #Taliban fighters.
Dozens of people in Panjshir carrying the dead body of him, chanting “death to Taliban” slogan.
A twitter account attributed to Hamid Khurasani, a former warlord& current deputy chief of police for #Panjshir, wrote that Mohammad Agha was killed by the Taliban while he was placing a bomb in exchange for $500. "There is no place for Daesh in Panjshir."
Hamid Khurasani deleted his old tweet&now wrote:
"In a misunderstanding that led to the shooting, one person was killed in Kuraba village of Unaba district.
The #IEA officials have arrested several suspects in this case& promised to investigate the issue."
A spokesman for the IEA's Ministry of Propagation of Virtue& Prevention of Vice confirmed to @kabulnewstv that it had informed all drivers to refrain from playing music in their vehicles& not to pick up female passengers without hijab.
The ministry's letter also urged drivers ...
...to not pick up female passengers without male #Mahram (chaperone) for long trips (45 miles) in their vehicles. Transport& use of drugs are not permitted in the vehicles& in prayer time, drivers should take a break for prayer. The last point is: "Advise people to grow #beards."
Afghans raised some important questions about the practicality& side effects of the recent written directive of the #Taliban to the (taxi) drivers.
Not only the open-minded Afghans (e.g. Prof. Rahimi), but even some pro-TB figures criticized the directive.
#Taliban seized barbed wire from #PAK security forces in Gushta& IEA's chief of intel for #Nangargar warning PAK guards to avoid any movement towards AFG territory, else, the TB like Jihad against them, more than Jihad against Jews.
#Nangarhar media office officially confirmed that the #Taliban prevented barbed wire project of #PAK on Durand Line in #Lalpura District:
"Mawlawi Mohammad Daud Muzamil, Governor of Nangarhar&a number of military officials visited the area& assured the troops of their readiness."
#Taliban allegedly took control of an area from #AFG territory, that was grabbed by #PAK and a primary school was established there by PAK, in #Lalpura district if #Nangarhar.
Pro-#Taliban accounts on Social Media:
"Right now, #ISKP Khawarij are under siege in #Jalalabad city, and a fierce clash/battle is going on."
#Nangarhar intelligence chief confirmed to media that 3 #kidnappers were killed & 2 more arrested in a raid against their hideout in Qasaba area of #Jalalabad City, last night.
Note: #Taliban recently designating the #ISKP members as kidnappers/criminals.
Nangarhar media office officially confirmed that a Talibam operation against armed kidnappers in Qasaba area, in PD1 of Jalalabad City, resulted in the killing of 3 kidnappers, one TB fighter&a goldsmith kidnapped by those criminals. Two kidnappers were arrested&6 weapons seized.
According to @aamajnews24, Mawlawi Abdul Salam Abed was the target of the explosion who survived the attack with some superficial wounds. Abed is a prominent Kabul-based #Sunni_scholar&Imam of Abdul Rahman Mosque who survived from an assassination attempt against him 3 years ago.
Mawlawi Salam Abed is a member of the Central Council of Jamiat-e Eslah Afghanistan @EslahAfg (Society for Reforms).
In February 2021, ISKP claimed assassination of Mohammed Atif, the Chairman of the Central Council of Jamiat-e Eslah in Kabul.
No group claimed today's attack yet.
Unconfirmed:
A drone strike targeted former #TTP deputy leader, Mawlawi Faqir Mohammad, in #Kunar, #AFG today.
There are conflicting news about Faqir Mohammad's fate. Some sources said earlier that he was killed in the attack, but Tribal News just reported that he escaped unhurt.
Mawlawi Faqir Mohammad Bajauri was captured by AFG security forces in #Afghanistan in February 2013 & released by the #Taliban in August 2021, after they took over Kabul.
On 17 August, #TTP confirmed that Faqir Mohammad was released alongside some other group members from prison.
Some details about today's airstrike in Kunar from @bsarwary:
State-run @BakhtarNA reported that one civilian was killed and two more were wounded in today's roadside IED #explosion in Tank-e Logar area, in PD8 of #Kabul City.
Local sources told me that the target of the explosion was a passing by vehicle of the #Taliban.
Meanwhile, the @emergency_ngo reported receiving three wounded patients, seemingly from PD16 explosion.
As both explosions were in the same direction (road), there could be some misreporting/mixing of information.
