An FOI shows #Stonewall in #NorthernIreland got the NI Civil Service to remove the words 'mother' and 'woman' from their maternity policies. @StephenNolan you covered this re Scotland; now it's here too. Doc 5 in FOI reply:
Stonewall removing the word 'mother' from the NI Civil Service #maternity policy. Public enquiry into this lobby group's outsize influence in NI public life now, please!
@StephenNolan You may remember #razorgate from last year, when The Rainbow Project (who claim to work for the wellbeing of 'trans young people) scared them with lies about razors - and NI politicians RTed and called us a 'hate group':
We contacted @PSNIBelfast to ask if they'd found any razors. They hadn't even received any reports. TRPNI told people to report 'directly' to themselves, rather than PSNI. Clearly they didn't pass on the reports they claimed. Do they think they have more authority than the PSNI?
In November 2021, @thetimes reported that Stonewall said they would no longer recommend to employers that the word 'mother' be dropped from policies. But we are told the NI Civil Service maternity leave policy was shared internally in December, now public. thetimes.co.uk/article/stonew…
@thetimes So what's happening here, @stonewalluk? Oh wait, they've blocked us, so won't see this. @Nancy_M_K, any comment? Have Stonewall NI gone rogue?
We also submitted an FOI to the PSNI on 'non-crime hate incidents', submitted after Harry Miller win at the High Court. @PoliceServiceNI told us 950 such incidents were recorded in NI in the last financial year. @WeAreFairCop
We had asked them to break down the 'non-crime hate incidents' by category, and they said that was too time-consuming. We thought it would be a simple database query. But we have refined our request and look forward to seeing the breakdown. whatdotheyknow.com/request/record…
The #razorgate fiasco was initiated by The Rainbow Project just after we shared screenshots of a 'Trans Sexual Health Guide for Young People' 'co-produced' by SAIL NI & GenderJam activists & @SouthernHSCT & @setrust. 'Sex work', BDSM & chest binding, more
We raised FOIs to the 2 Trusts & HSC Board. @SouthernHSCT: "The SHSCT has not been involved in a procurement/commissioning exercise regarding above." @SouthernHSCT: No reply @HSCBoard: "These are matters for the respective Trusts to consider and respond to" @RobinSwannMoH
We did find out that the @publichealthni paid for this guide. We think it is a massive crisis of #childprotection that a 'young person's guide' included information on 'sex work', BDSM, DIY genital prosthetics, binding/tucking. WHERE are the professionals? The NI media?
@publichealthni As we overheard recently, it's like pointing out to someone, 'Look, that building's on fire!' and them saying 'It can't be, there's a rainbow on it!'
NO person or organisation is above scrutiny. Have the powers that be learned nothing from #Savile or NGO abuse scandals?
We're waiting (since April) for the @PoliceServiceNI to answer our FOI on #sexnotgender in searches & crime stats. An @ni_wrn member sent us a policy (SI0321) showing male officers who "ID as women" can strip search females. No exception made for minors. independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/…
@PoliceServiceNI@ni_wrn After the new UK Home Office guidance that forces should record sex based on birth cert or GRC, we asked what was PSNI policy in regards to recording sex of suspects and victims, and suspects right not to be searched by an officer of the opposite sex:
We asked whether the @PoliceServiceNI would be changing policy following the new guidance. They said no, and have now added that it is unlikely that they will. But they have not answered the specific questions regarding searches and statistics.
A reminder that for the 'hate crime' of sharing photos sent to us of Women = Adult Human Female protest stickers in Belfast, @SDLPlive Councillor @seamasbelfast defamed us as a hate account. @columeastwood do you think it's hateful to defend sex-based rights & language? #AE22
Here's Seamas's defamatory tweet, trying to stifle debate on women's rights, calling our followers bots. When they replied #notabot, he blocked them! #seamasblockswomen What will you do about this, @columeastwood? Voters are angry & want to know. #AE22
Remember Yaniv's topless all-ages LGB+TQ swim events? Here's The Rainbow Project (Stonewall partners, recommended by NI gov & Education Authority as a great resource for kids) seeking donations for their 'wear what you want' all-ages private swimming events. @CharityCommNI
TRPNI accounts: apps.charitycommission.gov.uk/ccni_ar_attach… The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust gave them £128,200 core grant funding in 2018. Are you aware @jrct_UK that The Rainbow Project are running mixed-sex, all-ages, ‘wear what you want’ private swimming events? Does this match your values?
The future of NI's devolved gov #Stormont may be in doubt, but we'll continue to highlight the harm done to women, children & men by attempts to replace 'sex' (male or female) with 'gender' (which can mean many things, see our cover photo) in NI. NHS FOI: whatdotheyknow.com/request/single…
We're just one account out of a large network of NI citizens of all backgrounds: parents, people at all levels in education, health, civil service, 3rd sector, LGB, with disabilities. We're all angry at the drain on time & energy fighting for basic rights we'd ALREADY WON.
We are all sacrificing time from our families, our work, our hobbies trying to stop the assault on language and reality being pushed by people paid to uphold our rights. There are so many issues to be addressed in NI, it is beyond frustrating to have to go back to the start.
@StephenNolan Big relief! This account was set up to amplify concerns about replacing 'sex' (a material fact) with 'gender identity' (an untestable claim in law). We were slurred as a 'hate group' by @SeamasBelfast, who went on to block women who said we aren't a hate group & they support us.
Meanwhile in #NorthernIreland, the @SDLPlive's @BrianTierney09 championed the new rainbow crossing in #Derry that apparently cost ratepayers £22k. Yet another example of ill-thought out gesture politics that actual causes harm. In this case, visually impaired people, inc LGB+T.
"Rainbow-coloured pedestrian crossings are not safe for disabled people, older people or children and could exacerbate hallucinatory conditions, including for those with psychosis, campaigners warn." Not so 'welcoming' after all. #gesturepolitics
