51/bbr #StartUps will drive the growth of modern high quality jobs in #India. Union and State Govts must ensure complete de-bureaucratisation of the business environment (eg Labor & land rules) to ensure that this happens at an accelerated pace!
52/bbr Reviewing and Revising policies that fell short or failed, is an essential element of policy reforms; eg #PPP in #Major #Ports => bit.ly/3N6VqMp
52/bbr Is the anti-India coalition, taking off its blinkers and trying to understand the implications of comprehensive economic reforms in #India since Sept 2019? Danger lies in our tendency to, “rest on our laurels.” A lot more remains to be done! Does GOI have the bandwidth?🤔
53/bbr #BigBangReforms: GOI has the understanding-knowledge-expertise and political will, to exceed 1990s reforms in micro/product/industry/sector economic issues. This, however, appears increasingly unlikely wrt macro/tax/finance/trade/regulatory/institutional reform issues.
54/bbr Those with superficial knowledge of reforms & little personal experience, don’t know about the careful planning, timing, phasing, monitoring & course correction, which goes into every successful (major) reform. The vested interest will strike when they least expect🧐🤔
55/bbr True. (To minimise the transitional cost of reforms, GOI has to have reform-drivers who understand reforms👆🏻previous tweet) businesstoday.in/latest/trends/…

India has been pleading with “super power #USA” for 15 yrs, to help strengthen #India’s technological capabilities, so it can independently deter aggression by #China in the Indian sub-continent, & become key US-backed security provider in the Indian Ocean & its littoral (#IOR).
2/indus The logic of competitive strategy(Andrew marshal) shows that its in the best interest of USA to provide strategic technology to India to get best bang out of its military budget, so as to divert PLA attention away from Taiwan which is critical to long term defence of USA
3/indus For example, (1) accelerated development of an SLBM with a range of 5000 km. (2) Capability to detect(24x7) PLRF launches of conventional & nuclear missiles within seconds of launch. (3) Defence production capability(#AND) to sustain a hot war with PLA for > month, (4)…

#IndiaEcon Policy reform must be translated into simpler rules & procedures on the ground, before it translates into production efficiency, investment, job creation and productivity: Well designed & implemented reform, will reboot the economy. ..2/ hindustantimes.com/india-news/reb…
2/rfrm Badly designed reform, like original GST structure (with 10s of Cess), will Not result in greater efficiency or growth. Incomplete reform, like Labour codes, will not generate visibly more jobs, till simple rules, procedures & reporting requirements are put in place!
3/rfrm There are 2 human weakness to beware; Tendency to, (1) “rest on ones laurels” tire & leave things incomplete and/or unattended, (2) Arrogance; In a world of great uncertainty, shocks & big changes, one has to constantly learn and adapt to new threats & opportunities!

Beware Information war by certain sections of the foreign media, including the Hong Kong based media. Sadly there are Indian media, intellectuals and experts, who get easily carried away by such mis-information, instead of expressing scepticism, while reporting it!

The flood of foreign Govt visitors post-Ukraine, suggests, that they are finally trying to understand #India & #GOI #policy from the "horses mouth" (instead of seeing it through the biases of neo-colonialists and their Indian agents).
