How do NSE and BSE earn?

A thread. 🧵
The majority of their revenue comes from Transaction charges which are 0.003% of the total transaction amount.

They charge fees from companies at IPO listing

- listing charge
- book building fee
- rectification fee
- wrong claim fee, etc.
Brokerage firms pay a fee while taking membership from BSE and NSE - like subscription fee, processing fee, operating fee.
They also sell their Intraday and Historic trading data to software firms which constitute a large portion of revenue earnings.
They also provide certification courses & seminars through their subsidiaries BSE Institute & NCFM.
There is another source of revenue for BSE which is Fine.

Where it fines companies for manipulation or unfair trade practices. They can fine companies, broker firms & traders.

#GasPrice
LPG pricing in India is done on the basis of a formula: Import Parity Price (IPP)

The IPP is determined based on gas prices in the international market, as a major portion of India's consumption is satisfied through imports.

But, how is IPP calculated? 🤔
IPP is calculated as per Saudi Aramco’s LPG price, which is the world’s largest producer.

The price includes costs like:
- Free on board (FOB) price,
- Ocean freight,
- Custom duties,
- Port charges and Insurance cost
