#GanapatiBappaMorya is trending and often is a chant used during #GaneshaChaturthi . What is "Morya". The most logical one being it is a combination of 2 marathi words - mhora (soon) & ya (come) meaning come soon which would go with the slogan

By other accounts Morya refers to Saint Morya Gosavi considered chief spiritual progenitor&the most important saint of Ganapatya sect.Tales of his devotion to the lord are unmatched with stories revolving around how the Lord blessed him with multiple encounters #GaneshChaturthi

Morya Gosavi is supposed to have been in the time period of 13th-17th century. His life was filled with divine revelations &miracles. He worshipped at the Moreshwar Temple in Moregon Pune which is the starting &ending point of worship of 8 types of Ganesha . #GaneshChaturthi2022

The legend behind the temple says that Ganesha incarnated as Mayureshwar for the killing of the demon Sindhu and his vahana was a peacock( (hence the name Moegon) later given to his brother karthikeya.
These prominent Ganesha temples enjoyed patronage from the Peshwa rulers.

Due to growing age, #morya gosavi couldnt visit Moregon anymore. After intense prayers, it is said he had a divine revelation& built temple of Ganesha at Chinchwad. The mughal emperor #ShivajiMaharaj 's father Shahji has been recorded as a donor to #morya #GaneshaChaturthi2022

Morya Gosavi then attained Samadhi. His Son Chintamani is said to have revelead that he was an incarnation of lord #Ganesha himself to the saint Tukaram and began to be addressed as Dev

In the end , ultimate wish of a supreme devotee is to be always associated with name of the lord &in this regard #morya gosavi's wish has been fulfilled
If one were no to believe in this legend, the slogan of pleading the lord to come early is also apt.
