Do number of hours you put in define your commitment to your job? Is it how you should look at your job? (A perspective)
As the debate rages on #worklife balance vis a vis commitment to work, which in some sections is also now being equated with the no of hours put in by…1/7
employees, I feel, we are missing the real point that is ‘meaningful work’. On this aspect the following three questions are critical:
This has a direct linkage with your #purpose to work. The purpose could be linked to…2/7
personal/family/organisational/societal needs. Without getting into a moral debate on what type of purpose is more appropriate, it really does not matter as long as you have a purpose which motivates you to go to work.
2. Do you like what you do?
This relates to…3/7
how well your skill-set matches with the work you do. If just the act of doing your work finds you straining to complete, it will lead to more stress and sap your energy. On the other hand, if you take to your work like a duck to water, you will find it liberating!…4/7
3. Do you like working with the people around you?
This refers to your bosses, subordinates & peers (in that order) and how well you relate with them. The overall equation with folks determines whether one finds the work #environment enabling or restricting and…5/7
clearly has a direct impact on the #Mentalhealth of the person.
If you consider the above three questions, you will notice that this whole debate on no. of hours work is so meaningless. The fact is that the more emphatically you answer these three questions…6/7
with a ‘yes’, the more productive will you be and any no. of hours will be a breeze, leaving you energized. However, if unfortunately, your answers are more towards a ‘no’, every single minute of work will be stressful, unproductive and seems like an eternity…7/7
Hence, once you have found ‘meaningful work’, the no. of hours you put in or even work life balance becomes immaterial. You will always be in “the zone”!….(Thread ends)

As he turns 72 today, I ponder on what differentiates PM #Modi the most from his political rivals? On serious reflection, if I were to answer it in a sentence, it is that while his rivals work towards family & self preservation at the cost of national interests,…1/15
Modi is an epitome of self sacrifice and symbolises the true spirit of nationalism and love for countrymen. However, this calls for a detailed explanation, so please allow me to provide a few pointers in this thread:

At the outset I agree with 2 critical aspects he raises: 1. Why haven’t history books changed till date. 2. Free temples (or, in my view, also control places of worship of other religions).
these 2 substantial points, I disagree with him on 2 key assumptions he makes in the article:
1. Modi needs to communicate better with his party (Nupur/Naveen) & voter base.
It has been clarified by the party today that there were enough warnings given to both but they…2/11
exceeded the brief on multiple occasions. It was clearly communicated to all party officials that on the occasion of 8yrs completion of Modi govt the focus had to be on dvlpmnt & welfare works but these 2 did not heed to advise. Hence, the communication was crystal…3/11
It is regrettable that Raghuram Rajan (RR), Ex Governor RBI, is losing no opportunity trying to derail the India story hence, needs to be rebutted point-wise:
