Daily losses for #Russia heading back up again according to #Ukraine.
A further 800 of the Kremlin's soldiers fertilising the rich soil. Also Cruise missiles high for obvious reasons and a notable increase in technical vehicles/fuel tanks.
However, the British Ministry of Defence publishes a much more cautious number of victims on the battlefield for #Russia.
Personally, I think the MoD is underestimating, especially the ratio dead/severely injured. I think the mortality rate could be as high as 33%
In occupied #Melitopol', now the main nerve centre for #Russia in southern #Ukraine, the invaders continue to be petrified of Partisans.
They've taken over two schools in the town, erected new fences and uproot all bushes as they can hide bombs. #StopRussia

In the far eastern city of #Magadan, numerous transport trucks were destroyed in a fire at a large warehouse.
It's so far away from the frontline, unlikely war sabotage, but insurance job or "smoking" is likely. Vehicles, tyres, oils all helped destroy the place.
On occupied #Crimea they announce a #Ukraine drone was destroyed near #Sevastopol. Surprisingly #Russia specifically says it was near the #Balaklava thermal power plant, though of course no damage.
But Ukraine sites are publishing this document which they say shows power outages

One more incident to report. This one was so good it lasted FOUR days.
The blaze, which started on Monday, at a warehouse in #Krasnoyarsk has finally been put out.
Strange combination they stored here - timber and alcohol, seriously🤣
Interesting to read that @thetimes in an in-depth report, calculates #Russia suffered 166,000 casualties (dead and injured) in just the last 3 months on the frontline, losing 2,000 fighters for every 90m advanced.
News that among the prisoner exchange y'day, #Russia requested the return of a so-called cleric of the #Moscow branch of Russia's Orthodox Church - long associated with the FSB.
A 46 year old woman's been killed by Russian explosives and three more burned - inside #Russia.
There was a problem at an explosive and detonators factory in #Samara.

Following the sacking of the elected Mayor of #Chernihiv (one of the topics covered in my documentary), Zelenskyy has appointed a new leader for the city.
Dmytro Bryzhynskyi is now Head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration, replacing Vladyslav Atroshenko.
The Dutch PM, in #Kyiv today, dispelled worries about tank deliveries to #Ukraine
Mark Rutte said "The #Netherlands, #Germany + #Denmark will provide 100 Leopards and together with Germany and the USA - Patriot air defense systems along with ammunition" #StandWithUkraine
Google says #Ukraine's government is under almost constant digital attack.
"Russian government-backed attackers have engaged in an aggressive, multi-pronged effort to gain a decisive wartime advantage in cyberspace, often with mixed results."
Football fans in #Iran found a great way to taunt fans of #Russia's FC Zenit in a winter-break friendly.
#Ukraine flags were to the fore as the Russian champions were embarrassingly beaten by local side Sepahan 2-0.
A haunting drone video from the desolate ruins of #Mariinka in #Donetsk oblast.
Choice of music is not mine, but inspired - "Sellers of Flowers" by Regina Spektor (2016)
Wherever #Russia's peace mission comes, only destruction awaits: people, buildings, homes, they do not care.
Anger in the puppet states of #Donetsk and #Luhansk.
Army Officers there, despite having fought and gone through the ranks for many years in some instances, are being told they don't have the Russian military education, so will be discarded to civilian life when it suits #Russia.
1/2 Much has been said and written about #Paraskoviivka, a village just north of #Bakhmut.
Wagner posted an inconclusive video claiming they'd taken the village, but from other videos it seems as though #Ukraine retreated from the north end of the village. I'm still not 100%
2/2 ..convinced #Russia's mercenaries have taken it.
Either way it's not really important in the greater scheme of things. Saving #Ukraine lives is paramount.
It's Thursday and it's Day 358 of #Russia's illegal war on its peaceful neighbour and another daily thread
Yet again the day started violently for many regions of #Ukraine with overnight missile attacks targeting critical civilian infrastructure, which is itself a war crime...
Apologies for the late start today, I've had meetings from first thing, which overran a little
First, here the link for yesterday's thread as I know a few of you like to read back in one go and others like to catch up with that they missed in the evening:
This is the start of Wednesday's daily thread with news and analysis from #Russia's war on #Ukraine.
This is Day 357, which has started relatively quietly.

On Tuesday we learned of the death of an 8th British man in the war in #Ukraine
He's now been named as 45 year old Jonathan Shenkin, born in Glasgow but living in London. Mr Shenkin enlisted for the Ukrainian army & worked as a paramedic.
His family describe him as a hero.
RIP
Britain, Canada Czechia + Sweden all confirm a boycott of next month's women's Boxing's World Championship in India
USA + Ireland already withdrew.
Theyre all angry at Putin's mate, IBA President Umar Kremlev, who's allowing Russians to fight under 🇷🇺flag insidethegames.biz/articles/11336…
Day 355 of the brutal war started by #Russia on its peaceful neighbour. Very nearly 10 years since the first invasion of #Ukraine and the world did nothing, hoping the aggression would stop. The world did the same after Georgia. Nothing stopped. Dictators don't stop voluntarily
I'm tweeting from Manchester airport ahead of the Premiere of my new film "Ukraine: A War On Two Fronts" in Brussels this lunchtime.
I should be able to post a link to the live stream here a little nearer the time.
Before I go any further, immense thanks to Scott Vierling for the very generous donation via Ko-Fi which I saw when the alarm clock went off far too early!
Thanks to everyone for all support, be it cash, encouragement or tip-offs.💙💛
Welcome to the daily thread for Sunday 12 February.

Today's data show another 900 deaths for #Russia but also noteworthy figures of tanks and artillery systems destroyed - both well above the daily mean.
Day 353 of the war in Europe. #Ukraine fights for a nation, for liberty, in the name of democracy. #Russia fights for a small man in a bunker breaking, committing war crimes.
Here's yet another daily🧵 all the news in one place.
