Welcome to another daily thread for Day 384 of #Russia's illegal war on #Ukraine.
In yesterday's thread we heard that the ICC is planning on bringing two war crimes charges against the Kremlin.

If you want to review anything from Monday, it's all here⬇️
#Russia has now lost over 160,000 soldiers invading #Ukraine according to Kyiv's fugures.

10 tanks, 16 artillery systems (+2 MLRS) and 740 more deaths for Russia are the standout figures in the last 24 hours.

#StandWithUkraine
#Russia's continuing supply problems are the focus of the UK update once again today:

#RussiansGoHome
More terrorism by #Russia in #Ukraine this morning.

The invaders hit another apartment block, this time in #Kramatorsk in #Donetsk oblast.

At least three people were injured when the rocket smashed into the building, but rescuers are still sifting through the rubble.
Update from #Kramatorsk, where one person is dead after #Russia's rocket attack which hit and damaged 6 town centre residential buildings.

President @ZelenskyyUa wrote "Every strike that takes an innocent life must result in a lawful and just sentence that punishes murder."
A loud explosion heard in #Odesa (RU: #Odessa) today.

There was an air raid warning active at the time. Clearly air defences were working, but it's not yet clear whether #Russia hit any targets.
There are power cuts in the city but DTEK says these were planned.
#RussiaOnFire

A young woman seems to have a grudge here. Against the state? Against neighbours? Who knows?
But she calmly took a taxi to this apartment block in #Krasnodar and set fire to papers in the letter boxes.

No serious damage occurred and no one was injured.
I forgot to highlight this yesterday, but continuing today is the trial of one of the few people I admire in #Russia today.

Charged with treason, @vkaramurza faces 24 years in prison. Putin is so scared of him, the trial is behind closed doors.

A lot of people have contributed story suggestions over the last 24 hours, some of whom wish to remain anonymous. Thanks to you all, Carolynne, Renee, Simon, Naomi et al.

DMs open for tip-offs.💙💛
It's claimed another civilian has been killed by #Russia's shelling in #Ukraine.

#Kharkiv region governor, Oleh Synyehubov says a 55 year old woman died when "an enemy projectile hit a civilian car"

This happened in #Vovchansk, just 6km from the border with Russia.
#StopRussia
Now confirmed that #Odesa was hit by missiles this morning.

#Russia fired 4 warheads from Su-24 aircraft over the Black Sea, towards the coast in #Odessa

The tactic in the last 48 hours seems to be singular missile attacks, to locate, then aim to destroy #Ukraine's air defences
#Poland hopes to be able to hand over fighter jets to #Ukraine in "the next 4-6 weeks."

They will be the Soviet strye MiG-29s, which Ukrainian pilots can fly without additional training.

But another month or more? We've been hearing about plane donations since December.
#RussiaOnFire

For the second day in a row, a fire broke out at a Russian Thermal power plant in #Udmurtia.

Officials say the smoke at the plant in #Izhevsk was due to oil in the transformer catching light.
#Russia's getting twitchy over drones.

A UAV's been spotted over #Moscow's Vnukovo airport this afternoon.
Y'day 3 quadcopters were reportedly spying on military in Moscow.

Earlier today a #Ukraine drone was supposedly shot down while "trying to attack #Bryansk chemical plant"
Earlier in the thread I reported on the death of a 55 year old woman in shelling in #Kharkiv region.

It transpires she, and others caught up #Russia's attack on #Vovchansk, were carrying the body of a relative to the cemetery when hit by the rocket.

#RussiaIsATerroristState
The President's office in #Kyiv reports after a Defence meeting today, unanimous support for ongoing defence of #Bakhmut.

My analysis is this defies logic, so there must be some non-public info:
1) Western artillery/tanks/ammo imminent
2) It's a bluff
The governor is #Luhansk is reportedly resigning.

Serhii Haidai became quite well known during the war as #Ukraine managed to wrestle back some territory in the region from #Russia.

He may become ambassador to Kazakhstan.
Reports coming in of another car bomb explosion in occupied #Melitopol

#RussiansGoHome
#Russia is accused of desecrating a church in #Kherson.

St. Nicholas Church in the south of the city was damaged in shelling today.

#RussiaIsATerroristState
UPDATE

Video from the scene of the car bomb in occupied #Melitopol.

It's not known who was in the car, but those on site say at least one person died.
It's now known 9 people were injured in this attack on #Kramatorsk.

Head of the City Council Oleksandr Honcharenko said mercifully only two were hospitalised.

#USA is accusing #Russia of deliberately hitting an MQ-8 Reaper reconnaissance drone over the Black Sea.

The Command of US Forces in Europe blames one of two Russian Su-27 fighter jets which "carried out a dangerous and unprofessional interception" of the drone.
#StopRussia
The fire following the car bomb explosion in #Melitopol' is now out.

There are various rumours about who was in the car and who carried out the attack. Some say it was score settling among the occupiers themselves.

No official information, but officials say no-one died.
The Occupiers' media channels now say three people were injured as a result of the car bomb attack in #Melitopol'

They still refuse to name any of the victims, or their condition.

#RussiansGoHome
It's now confirmed that one person died in the #Melitopol bombing.

It could be traitor Ivan Tkach who has now been named among the three victims.
Tkach owned one of the largest transport companies in Melitopol and was made Director of "City Transport" by the Occupiers' council.
#USA has sumoned the Russian ambassador over the downing of a drone over the Black Sea

#Russia claims its fighters did not fire on the drone and did not "come into contact" with the US UAV.
"Due to sharp manoeuvering, the drone went into a dive, lost altitude and hit the water."
Earlier in the thread I wrote about the Governor of #Luhansk, Serhii Haidai leaving the post.

The Heads of #Odesa and #Khmelnytskyi are also dismissed.

It will be interesting to see if #Odessa's Maksym Marchenko is given another role or not.
Fascinating long read here about #Russia's installation of air defences (with zero regard for the environment, and possibly for residents too)

theins.ru/en/politics/26…
Explosions in #Russia's #Belgorod tonight.

The governor claims they shot down 3 missiles. “Debris from one hit the residential sector. There is damage"

#StandWithUkraine
More from #Belgorod

The governor says they shot down all missiles, but this video looks very much like the straight trajectory of a missile hitting a ground target. It's small, but moving left to right.

It would be very interesting to know the direction of travel.
And another video of the arc of one of the missiles in #Belgorod. Some report the rocket changed direction sharply. Any sign of air defence here?
Anyone able to geolocate to judge from where it was fired?
Another #Wagner cemetery has been discovered.

This is in #Yekaterinburg region. Residents of #Berezovsky confirm it's a real video in their village.

It's Day 1336 of Russia's full invasion, but that only started because the world didn't provide a deterrent almost 12 years ago when Putin first tested the west's response by invading Crimea

The west failed the test. Are we about to fail the biggest exam too?
It's Tim's daily🧵
There was a big drone attack on western Russia last night, with Rostov in particular feeling the heat

There was also plenty of heat again on Russia's largest gas facility, the Georgian 'government' doing Russia's fascist work, and an a tragedy in Kherson
Ukraine was subjected to 6 missiles and almost 100 attack drones overnight.

None of the 2 ballistics, or 4 S-300 missiles was shot down

Of 98 UAVs launched, 3 were still flying.
Of the remaining 95, just 58 were stopped = 61%

Russia's 37 drones and 6 missiles hit 10 locations Image

An explosive start to Day 1334 of Russia's 10-day operation to erase Ukraine from the map.

Not quite #EATP for Putin.
An early start to Sunday's thread as we have news from central and eastern Russia.

All the news, all the time, every damn day. Here we go again!
So much happened yesterday and the fireworks really started in the last couple of hours.

Do yourself a favour and have a quick skim through what you missed from Saturday's news about Ukraine's battle for survival. Incredibly only 14,000 views😳🫣

Two major hits by Ukraine this morning, way, way back, deep into Russia.

Those with me a few minutes ago will already know some of the details but we have a few more sights to show you, starting in Orenburg.

Here, locals say a gas plant has been hit by drones. Image

Hello on Thursday morning, 16 October 2025.

Russia is now going all out to make life unliveable for Ukraine's citizens, destroying all energy and heat infrastructure it can.

While Ukraine hits energy targets too, it's almost all to hit Russia's exports/finances.

Here's the🧵
Day 1331 is well underway: I hope we can penetrate the algorithm and get people to actually see today's🧵

Yesterday, views for the 1st page is at 16k, about half what it should be. Please quote tweet or repost various posts during the day

Catch up here:
Last night I wrote of a possible hit on another refinery.

In the last couple of minutes, Ukraine has confirmed the strike in Saratov, which they say directly supports Russia's army.

It's refining capacity is almost 5m tons.

Every Single Day.
Ukraine's brave men and women on (or supporting) the frontline cannot switch off, so neither shall I in documenting the major events of Russia's horrific war.

As we begin a new week, it's the 1,321st Daily Thread - never missed one yet. So let's dive-in..
Well it's been lively overnight in Russia, with many reports of Ukraine's drones causing problems.

You can see photos and video from those reports at the end of yesterday's thread, which began with more daytime strikes by Moscow's war criminals...

I'll start with the numbers as Ukraine launched more than twice as many drones as Russia overnight according to official defence figures.

Moscow says it downed 251 UAVs, while Kyiv reports 116 long range drones fired by Russia, of which 83 were stopped (72% success)> Image

Tuesday 30 September 2025 - it's Day 1315 of Russia's full invasion. That's 3 years, 7 months and one week of Ukraine trying to defend itself against an infinitely bigger army.

But Ukrainians have a just cause and the sum is much bigger than the parts.

Here's the daily thread:
A shorter thread yesterday, with not a lot of ground-breaking news. But still more than 30 posts, you may like to catch up on, such as Russia's moaning about its election interference in Moldova coming to nothing!

Yesterday I showed the remarkable downing of a Russian military helicopter by an FPV drone - the price disparity is also incredible.

That hit is included in today's table of Russia's losses during the war, but elsewhere numbers are a little lower. Image

Hello again everybody. Are we ready for Day 1311 of Ukraine's defence against the all-out invasion by a Kremlin horde? I know I am, so let's go.

Documenting all the important news, and Russian war crimes, every single day - still never missed one - this is THE daily thread:
You can almost smell the weekend approaching, but first let's look back at Thursday.

Another wide variety of stories, and what a contrast. Almost record numbers of likes on BSky yet way below par number of views here on X.
Review what you missed here:

Today let's start with some damage in Russia.

Ukraine's drones were probing various places during the night and found another way through to the Afipsky oil refinery.

The Krasnodar region continues to be a good hunting ground in recent days.
