#Ukraine wakes after another bloody and murderous early morning.

It's Day 429 of the war and more civilians have died in #Russia's latest indiscriminate attack.

All the news right here in one place. Replies/retweets gratefully accepted to keep the account visible!
#SlavaUkraini
Yesterday I made a typo - it was Day 428 and not 427.

If you missed anything on Thursday, catch up right here:

#StopRussia

At least three people are dead and 8 injured when cruise missiles hit a city previously almost untouched by the war..

#Russia's barrage at around 04:00 this morning saw two rockets land in #Uman in central #Ukraine.
A large apartment block was hit and some warehouses nearby.
#Ukraine says it shot down 21 out of 23 cruise missiles of the Kh-101 and Kh-555 types, as well as 2 drones.

Air defence is improved, especially with Patriots, which is probably why #Russia targets civilians in cities which have fewer defences such as #Mykolaiv yesterday + #Uman
#Russia's dead in the war may reach 190,000 tomorrow.

Today's numbers are broadly in line with recent days, though slightly lower.

Figures are estimates by #Ukraine. Image
Sadly, inevitably, the death toll in #Uman' has climbed significantly.

As a result of the cruise missile attack on a nine-storey residential building it's now known that 10 people died, one a 9yo child.

18 others are injured.

News also coming in of the deaths of mother and her small child in #Dnipro

One of #Ukraine's biggest cities, it's also in the central region of the country.

Mayor of Dnipro announced the deaths after shelling by #Russia during the night, but no further details yet.

#StopRussia
There were also rockets + drones launched on #Kyiv region this morning.

The only damage and injury appears to be in the small town of #Ukrainka, south of the capital. It's thought part of a downed rocket hit a tower block, with the fragment injuring a young girl.

#Russia has cancelled its own invention "Tank Olympics"

Known officially as the Army Games, the British Intel update has a cheeky swipe, saying it may have been called off because they were not likely to win this time!

Seven people have died in an attack on occupied #Donetsk.

#Ukraine channels are calling it a cynical attack by #Russia on their own, to assuage its guilt over the Uman' killings.

Of course the Occupiers blame "The Kyiv Regime"
2/3
Many of the victims in #Donetsk are thought to have been on a bus when the attack happened

Without ballistics evidence it's impossible to say which side is to blame, but previously #Ukraine has struck at night during the curfew with high precision rockets on military targets
3/3
One child is reportedly among the dead in occupied #Donetsk

Many vehicles were completely burned out in the centre (video)

The old football ground and a medical centre were also damaged. #Russia says the only MRI scanner is destroyed - there used to be many but🇷🇺 stole them
In #Uman' meanwhile, more bodies have been pulled from the rubble of the apartment block.

15 is the current confirmed number of dead.
One of the victims was a fairly well known musician.
65 year old Volodymyr Makarovsky found fame with the band "Foxtrot", but was killed today. Image
#Iran's deadly drones use "technlogy stolen from #Germany."

That's the finding of a CNN report into the killer attack UAVs which have been killing people in #Ukraine since the early months of the war.

edition.cnn.com/2023/04/28/wor…
#India pledged support to #Russia after the countries' Defence Ministers met in New Delhi.

"The ministers expressed satisfaction with the continued trust and mutual respect between the two countries and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the partnership."

#StopRussia
22 civilians have died in the #Uman' massacre.

#Russia says it hit concentrations of #Ukraine's troops. Three children perished in the cruise missile attack on an apartment block.

#RussiaIsATerroristState Image
A landmine exploded next to the #Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in #Enerhodar.

The Head of the IAEA also reports continued shelling nearby.

#RussiaOnFire - this time we go to #Omsk where another village has been consumed by flames and the whole region has problems.

In #Logovoe (left) there are 23 houses. 18 have been damaged by the wildfire.
On the right a map of the current fires in the region! ImageImage
Not sure whether this story in the New York Times is reassuring or scary.

A team of nuclear experts will train personnel, monitor data, deploy radiation sensors and warn of deadly radiation for #Ukraine.

#Hungary's PM Viktor Orbán was delighted the Pope was visiting the Catholic country.

But The Pontiff appears to have openly criticised his host over rising nationalism and not welcoming refugees.
The Pope called for creative efforts for peace in #Ukraine

Sad to see what @amnesty has become.

NY Times publishes the highly critical report, which Amnesty's directors have "sat on" for months.
It says the criticism of #Ukraine was “written in language that was ambiguous, imprecise" and was not provem.

Hello again. Day 1203 of Russia's genocidal war in Ukraine

Anyone with a brain slightly larger than that of a chihuahua knows it. Russian history and Putin's own words spelt it out, but peaceniks, Naziniks and idiotniks are still in denial

More proof coming up in🧵for Day 1203
Yesterday's thread lasted well over 24 hours, but nothing to be proud of.

I know I'm crazier than you, and thankfully you all have lives to live. So you will be needing the link to the start of yesterday's thread so you can catch up on what you missed..

Genocide - a short thread within a🧵
I am simply staggered governments and world organisations are too weak to acknowledge the mountain of evidence.

The recent huge missile attacks should be enough, but useful idiots are fooled by Russia's plausible deniability.

A very early start to my daily thread on Day 1202 of Russia's 3 day 'special operation' to capture Kyiv.

It's so special Putin just doesn't want it to stop!

It's another no-sleep night as I start Monday's news feed on all things Ukraine.

Thanks for your support, I rely on you
Another huge Russian attack continues as I type. It could be the biggest yet.

The attack started about half way through yesterday's thread! So catch up here if you're just waking up.

The biggest problem in Ukraine tonight has been for Dubno, in Rivne region.

Heavily attacked in the evening, but now as light bathes the town, it's even worse. All cruise missiles in Ukraine are about to hit, and 3 drones too.

Day 1201 of Europe's war.
But the pre-conflict hybrid war has already been waging worldwide for years. Hacking, election interference, sabotage - we're all targeted by Russia, even if we don't all realise it yet.

Ukraine can stop the war criminal with our help.
Welcome to the🧵
Maybe Sunday will bless Ukraine with a quiet day?

Saturday was another full-on journalistic stint, catching sleep when I could.
Kharkiv shattered overnight then a daytime attack on a kids' railway.
Operation Web 2.0 & a factory hit in Russia.
It's all ⬇️

Early this morning, just before the end of the previous thread I showed the Azot chemical plant in Tula region on fire.
Not long afterwards, Ukraine hit another facility, this time in Russia-controlled 🇺🇦

This is the Hydromash factory in Melitopol' in occupied Zaporizhzhia.

Welcome to yet another daily thread covering all things Ukraine and Russia.

It's Day 1195 and the day of the latest talks between the sides in Istanbul.

But all the buzz is still about one of the most incredible and successful military attacks ever, and Russia is hurting.
Ukraine's astonishingly well planned, daring and audacious attack is front page news around the world this morning.

If somehow you don't know what I am writing about, you're in for a treat. Re-live the extraordinary day by scrolling through Sunday's🧵⬇️

First important news from Poland where the Presidential election has been won by the anti-EU, anti-Ukraine candidate, right-wing Nawrocki

Despite gaining under than 51% of the vote, the tRUmp-aligned Nawrocki can now veto any legislation passed by @donaldtusk & the liberal govt Image

Day 1194 of Putin's war, though let's remember the initial invasion came 11 years ago.

Since February 2014, not once have western sanctions or military support come close to being enough to restore justice and defeat evil.

Welcome to THE daily 🇺🇦 thread for Sunday 1 June
A new day, a new season. Summer officially started, but nothing is likely to change just yet.

Y'day's thread had some great stories, but everything paled into insignificance when justy before midnight came news of a disaster in Russia's Bryansk region:
1/5
I want to start with events in Bryansk region.
What's happened is a tragedy even if you believe all Russians are partly to blame for the war.

7 people died - five passengers on a train and 2 in a truck. 69 were injured.

The lorry crashed down when the bridge collapsed.

Another night of no sleep yet - dramatic action in Moscow.

Time to start another daily thread covering everything to do with Putin's disastrous 'operation' in Ukraine.

It's 5am in Russia and Ukraine, on Day 1190 of the war.
Let's begin...
I've still NEVER missed even one day since the start of Russia's full invasion.

But yesterday's thread ended up being one of the most lively. Another near 50-post story of the day, and if you like seeing "bavovna" in Russia, go right through to the end!
1/3
Russia says 33 drones have been shot down approaching Moscow during the night.

The biggest incident is clearly this at the Mikron micro-electronics plant in Zelenograd, in Moscow oblast...
