Sorry for not updating in a while. The reception up here is terrible and I haven't been able to get Twitter to load all that often. At least there's lots of wine in the cellar, so I haven't been too bored.
I've mostly been trying to keep busy getting the house in shape to sell. A realtor is supposed to come up here next week to help me formally list it, which is good because I'd like to get out of here.
But there's something weird about the town down the road that I can't figure out. I've been getting cabin fever pretty bad, so the other day I drove into town to have breakfast and wander around a little bit to get my mind off things.

So now watching “Dark Water”, the first part of the two-part eighth season finale.

Clara is a fascinating companion, in large part because she’s essentially riffing on the sense of entitlement that Rose felt.

Clara is selfish and self-centred. But she’s aware of that, and the show is aware of that.

These traits are explored as developed. They make her human.

I feel like driving up some controversy, so how about a thread of Hot Takes/Unpopular Opinions! You know the drill, one like = one take/opinion.

Start easy: the blunt awkwardness/cringe of 'Blurryface' is the point of taking the piss out of Tyler. I stand by my light 9/10.
2. I don't hate Nickelback's 'Dark Horse' - it's easily a record for them at their most tasteless, but the frat-bro swagger of it helps some of their better hooks.
3. 'Fireflies' by Owl City is a genuinely terrific song that captures precocious, starry-eyed wonderment better than few others in the 2000s.

It is SPECTACULARLY lame, but that's why it works.

1. For 2 yrs many of us, at great personal sacrifice, worked to uncover and report on the corruption and treason that is pervasive w Trump, his life, his campaign and now his regime. I don’t understand how Rachel Brand and others made the decision to quit and leave us vulnerable
2. Perhaps their health or relationships were suffering from the stress. Perhaps they were threatened and harassed. The one thing we know- they at least still had a salary from their position. Maybe they think that our Democracy will survive and after midterms or 2020 elections-
3 ...all will be well- and we will have a Democrats majority and we can begin to undo Team Treason’s damage. I wish I had the confidence that they do that everything can be unwound and in the meantime people won’t die from lack of healthcare or have their lives torn out from-
