One reason is that I'll actually get to meet @cagoldberglaw, who's been an inspiration ever since I started working on #sextortion.
If you're in or around Baltimore, there's an incredible roster of speakers at this event—including FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe!
And there are a lot of career professionals speaking who spend their days protecting people from horrible abuse online. Worth. Your. Time.

Here's a question I posed on the emergency podcast yesterday which I am now posing more generally: If I were a senior FBI official and I had just opened a CI sub file on POTUS, one thing I would make damn sure of is that the Gang of Eight knew.
If the bureau leadership in fact briefed Congress, does that mean that Devin Nunes has known all this time about this? And Mitch McConnell?

I am actually glad the President is hiring competent counsel. It does not serve the process for Trump, or the presidency, to be as badly represented as it has been. Some of the people mentioned in this story are excellent lawyers. The whole process works better that way.
If you've listened to @maddow's podcast, "Bagman," consider how much more difficult the negotiation over Agnew's resignation would have been without lawyers like Marty London representing Agnew.
Yes, such lawyers assert their clients' rights and entitlements aggressively, tenaciously even. But competent counsel is also an address to discuss matters and reach accommodations. Don't underestimate the importance of that when things get really ugly--as they surely will.

That Instagram influencer I occasionally check in on because she's The Worst is now charging $165 for a 4 hour "seminar" on how to be yourself.
Important update: Said "influencer" just put down a deposit on a venue for her "seminar" and is conveniently upping the number of available spots for attendees. Methinks she just realized how pricey her scam was going to be and is now trying to widen those profit margins.
Further update: The "influencer" sold out her seminars! So she's netting a gross profit of like $15k (more than my annual wage), so pardon me if I spend today feeling like hard work and talent are a tad pointless.

BREAKING: Judge dismiss House Oversight Dems lawsuit v. GSA for seeking info related to Trump Hotel DC lease for lack of standing. "The fact that a political remedy is hard to achieve does not automatically swing open the doors to the federal courts."
Rationale the judge applied reaching the afore-quoted conclusion seems—to this very non-lawyer—like it also could be applied to the 196 Senate and House Dems' emoluments lawsuit v. Trump too.*

Q: Why has Mueller not made more arrests yet? Assuming he has probable cause, what's the delay? Is there a risk that Mueller gets shut down without new indictments? Wouldn't indicting now decrease the risk?
A: Federal prosecutors don’t indict until they’re confident they have sufficient evidence to prove the crime beyond a reasonable doubt. It’s unclear whether indicting earlier would change the risk that Mueller is fired, and firing him wouldn’t end the investigations.
