I dedicate this week to Sarah Brady, leading gun control advocate, whose husband, James, was shot while serving as Pres Reagan's press secy.
The gun lobby finds waiting periods inconvenient...ask my husband how inconvenient he finds his wheelchair from time to time.

Technically, the Veselnitskaya indictment is not part of Mueller investigation, but it is very much related. She got her clients, Prevezon and Denis Katsyv, out from under Magnitsky Sanctions and frustrated @PreetBharara ‘s case by producing phony affidavits.

The settlement was approved under Sessions after Preet was gone. Katsyv is close with Putin.
It was part of The Conspiracy, much smaller than Rosneft, but close to $300 Million worth. She brought a hacker and a Money Launderer with her to the meeting.

Gun violence has become routine in America. We have lost too many of our classmates, friends, family members, and children to this epidemic. As a nation, we are weary — but the courage of the students, faculty, and parents at Stoneman Douglas is creating new energy in this fight.
Now is the time for Congress to follow their lead. Let’s acknowledge the epidemic of gun violence -- and the corrupting influence of the gun lobby in Washington. Let’s bust the false choice that you can either support the Second Amendment or support reasonable gun safety laws.
Let’s work now to ban weapons of war whose primary purpose is to kill the largest number of human beings in the shortest amount of time possible. Let’s get this done and keep our schools safe.

GUN THREAD. This is a critical point to understanding why finding common sense solutions to gun violence is so hard. What follows will be long, but I hope worth the read. I invite my colleagues, @JamesAGagliano and @JDWackrow, who are very reasonable 2nd Amend folks, to weigh in.
2. I have outlined previously our "swiss cheese" approach to guns. These are laws that are *already* on the books. The NRA rallying cry is always "just enforce the laws!" but here's why it's so hard:
3. Based on the above thread, there are three things that can be done RIGHT NOW to make our swiss cheese into cheddar: 1) universal background checks; 2) having all states ("voluntarily") provide disqualifying info to NICS; and 3) requiring the reporting of all stolen firearms
