A few notes about this piece in @POLITICOMag, "How We Found Tom Price’s Private Jets" 1/ politico.com/magazine/story…
2/ first and foremost kudos to @ddiamond and @rachanadixit for incredible and diligent shoe leather reporting. 👏 👏 👏
3/ second - they note how untransparent HHS and Price were. This is the whole point of pols being opaque - hiding such abuses from you.
4/ third - note the initial falsehoods about the travel coming from officials at HHS whose salaries YOU pay.
5/ fourth - price flew to Philly from Dulles? That doesn't even make sense. I'm from Philly, go there several times a year. Never flown ever
6/ it's an hour and a half on the train. One would have to be addicted to charter jets to drive to Dulles to fly to Philly.
7/ last please recall that what POTUS didn't like about this story were the "optics." Meaning that it was on tv and in the paper.
