 These maps are made using election results data. These are numbers all tallied up in a database or spreadsheet summarizing how many people cast votes for each party's candidates on election day, by precinct.

The maps are only as good as the data.

 If the data are correct, the map is correct.
If the data are wrong… you get the picture.

I am so disappointed in our country, but I know I am partly to blame. I was angry and disillusioned about the level of corruption in our government, at all levels, but I did not know how to change it. I became complacent and took too many things for granted.

NOW WE ARE AWAKE
I will never be complacent again. This corruption is completely intolerable. I am ANGRY + I will fight until we permanently change this country for the better.

I know you feel the same way. Our strength is in our numbers. We must stay united, strategic, and relentless.

A thoughtful contribution, thank you. Ideological opposites allying for the greater good is also what I tried to help build in Russia against Putin. We'd be on opposite sides in a parliament, but at least we'd have one.
Similarly, my lack of forgiveness comes from experience. The USSR fell, but the KGB was never rooted out in the rush to celebrate & move on. No accountability, no truth commissions. Putin was the result, just 8 years later.
People should know that their choices come with a price. Feel empathy if you can, but don't act from pity because we know such people don't have any for us when they have power.

What we knew about Russia Hacking of State Election Websites. This from Ruben Major from May. Illinois not just targeted but hacked hard.

The report indicated that the SBE website was hit a massive number of 5 times per second 24 hours per day. The Board also concluded that “various IVRS passwords were compromised.”
Those with compromised passwords included election authorities, staffers, SBE users, vendors and web services.

There are very specific federal and state laws that govern the voter registration databases built and maintained by each state. Hang on to this thread, you will want to refer back to it as we fall deeper into the Rabbit Hole.
Lets start with the 1993 National Voter Registration Act, also known as NVRA, or the "motor voter" law. NVRA tells the states what they must do to maintain accurate and current voter registration lists.

We know that DHS warned at least 21 states that their voter registration databases were targeted by Russian government hackers seeking vulnerabilities and access to the U.S. election infrastructure.
We also know that DHS didn't notify the States being Targeted until October of this year. We know that the States Control their Voter Registration Files. So if the States didn’t know they were being targeted how the hell did DHS know that the files were not touched?
Why was Russia Targeting Voter Registration Systems from as early as last February and in some States through December two months after the Election?

We all know our Election Systems are hackable. We all want paper everywhere. We all focus on the States where the results are the most suspect.

What we should also consider.

We know that the States that we focus on right now under this administration are the least likely to make changes to their Election Systems. They are happy with the results.
It doesn't mean we don't fight them all day every day.

Where we need to start and get loud is insisting that the few Strong Democratic States under Democratic Control implement the changes we want elsewhere.
