Our last book read-along was good, but I can't help notice a gaping whole in the first half of the twentieth century on MacIntyre's part. Something missing, but I can't quite put my finder on it. 🤔
Oh yes, we're doing this. It's time we learned what "fascism" actually is and why you should be familiar with Georges Sorel. (hint: it's the same reason you should be familiar with Hegel, just for the 20th century instead of the 19th.)
So, read along as we begin

A. James Gregor's "Mussolini's Intellectuals."
CHAPTER ONE
Some Issues in the Intellectual
History of Fascism
First off, let's introduce our author and why he is the most qualified man on Earth to write this book. This is important, because the entire first chapter is calling out other Academics for being retarded on this subject.
And yes, they were, in fact, incredibly retarded at understanding fascism.
1) I'll try not to burden you with footnotes, since they're mostly sources, but this one is important.
2) The first misconception we'll tackle: that "Nazi" is a general-purpose synonym for "fascist"
Did it get better with hindsight after the war once passions cooled down? You know the answer to this.
🤔
If all of this is reminding you of "sluggish schizophrenia," then just keep in mind that it was more of less the same people that wrote most of these books.
By the end of the twentieth century, the closest thing that "Fascist" had to an actual concrete definition was "stuff that got Sylvia Plath wet."
But enough humoring the sadomasochistic fantasies of liberals and/or Jews, it's time for a cold, hard, reality check:
The next myth: the Marxist idea that fascism is "capitalism in crisis," busted by no less a Marxist than Antonio Gramsci.
Gregor follows this up by nailing down any possible escapes with weasel words and cites himself, because he's spent decades BTFOing Marxists on this very subject.
Liberals, being sophists, latched onto this Marxist critique once Reich's "they aren't cumming enough" theory was debunked, despite the fact that liberalism itself would be (and is) damned by the same standards.
>It's a "Marx's predictions are wildly wrong" episode

Also, keep in mind that last bit about "natural selection." That'll be important later.
"Testing my hypothesis" is, apparently, not good Marxist praxis.
D E S T R O Y E D
tl;dr: Mussolini was chad as hell and all this Marxist shit-flinging is virgin rage.
The "fascists are irrational" accusation looks to have been somewhat of a projection, I think.
This is just getting sad now.
Fascism is an incomprehensible Lovecraftian entity to the socialist mind.
Stalin, seeing how this chaos is making them all look like idiots, decided to set the official ideological doctrine as that last one, because they'd run out of ideas, I guess.
This is a good time to remind people power structures can withstand a frankly depressing level of stupidity and still function for decades.
Although, to be fair, apparently these people stopped being actual Marxists some time in the 1960s.
Now THIS is revisionism!
In case you needed your suspicions confirmed, this is why liberals are insistent that you punch "nazis" before they're able to communicate.
So, if these guys had it figured out, why are we back at square one? Why the hysterical antifa? That, I can tell you with one word:

Anglos.
>Ostensible right-wingers believing liberal memes
Many such cases!
(that was written in 2004, and I think he accidentally just BTFO of the entire alt-right. Wild)
Now that we've demolished every contemporary theory of fascism, it's time to segue into what it actually is.
And that, my friends, is why we're doing this project, and why I'll continue this book until we've read the whole thing.
Because you all know about Machiavelli, Locke, Mill, etc. on the one hand, and Hegel, Marx, Lukács, etc. on the other, but I'll bet most of you people never heard about this guy before.

See you all next time for remedial education.
