(1) @ThomasWictor does a wonderful job tying some facts together about the strange email Susan Rice sent to herself just minutes before her final departure from the White House on Inauguration Day. I thought it worthwhile to highlight a few more points...
(2) Rice writes the email to herself (supposedly) on January 20, 2017 at 12:15 PM, at the last possible moment of access to her official email account. She writes about a meeting held on January 5, 2017 with Obama, Comey, Yates, Biden, and Rice...

(3) It may be obvious to most, but for clarity worth highlighting, sending an email at the last possible second that the prior administration holds power ensures no one in the administration can catch that it was sent...
(4) ...& thus cannot interrogate Rice on her intent for sending a self-serving note. Also of note is that 2 weeks pass before Rice sends herself the email. W/ so much activity to transition between administrations, a delay is less likely than contemporaneously sending it...
(5) One possibility, as contemplated by the first 2 of Grassley's questions is that someone else accessed Rice's email & sent it AFTER she had left the building to make it appear she sent it. It is on the surface, after all, highlighting claims to work "by the book"...
(6) However, another possibility is that Rice sent it because something since January 5 had raised her sense of conscious that was so troubling that she wanted to ensure she was not implicated, and that she might even be questioned...
(7) And what happened the day after, on January 6? Comey (head of FBI), Brennan (head of CIA), and Clapper (head of National Intelligence) brief President-Elect Trump at Trump Tower on the intelligence Community's findings and the Steele pee-pee Dossier.

(8) The VERY next day after Obama meets with Comey, Rice, et al., Comey leads the Intel heads to Trump to tell the story of a non-story, that gets leaked to the press, thus guaranteeing it becomes a story, albeit fake, but one which the rabid left is longing to devour...
(9) 4 days later, on Jan. 10, CNN reports of the content of the Jan. 6 briefing w/ Trump, & Buzzfeed soon thereafter publishes the Dossier. Salacious. Unconfirmed. Containing info invented by the people writing the dossier, fed to other persons, to feed back to the writers...
(12) So at a minimum, Rice heard one thing said in the Jan. 5 meeting w/ Obama, & saw the opposite happening, or she saw something she was not comfortable placing in an email, wrote something to ensure it was captured in an investigation, & she could then testify of the truth...
(13) The point is that being aware of the immediate actions following the January 5, 2017 meeting makes it very likely the self-email was a matter of conscious for Rice, and she could not rightfully in good faith stand by and watch America be taken down.
